    Alpha 5 Reductase ???

    So hey guys here goes:

3 years ago I took Propecia aka Finasteride, which is an Alpha 5 Reductase Inhibitor. Which means my DHT is in the dumps and won't increase. It's been almost 3 years since I've been off it but don;t feel the same. No passion, smaller balls, erection problems, low libiso, lower body temp, forgetful, etc. It feels like my whole day is a dream basically.

I'm in the process of trying to get a 3alpha-diol test done which would show my androgenic receptor activity. I have read many people who have taken Finasteride don't respond well to HRT, and some even get worse.

Anyone have any tips on how to increase my Alpha 5 Reductase? Or has anyone here suffered from sides of Finasteride and overcame them with HRT? Or are there a set of speficic tests that will show how well I'll respond to HRT? Sorry if I sound so anxious, but I'm scared out of my mind I'm going to be stuck like this for life.

What is your DHT level currently? Have you tested it?
    Do you need TRT?

    Read this:

    Welcome to the site btw.

My DHT level last test was at 19 ng/dL with range at 16-80. I have never used creatine before for this, but have seen the studies done. Would it decrease my total T if I used this? I assume my E2 levels are high also. And thanks bro

This is why I believe Finasteride should be banned by the FDA; it's the most evil drug a man can take.

Your recovery is predicated on the knowledge of your Physician and there are only a handful that know how to correct your problem.

You are shutdown; but it's different then exogenous Testosterone induced shutdown...it's more complex.

I know one guy who knows this better than most and it's Dr. John Crisler.

If I were in your shoes I'd be on the first freaking plan to see him and get fixed...for something like this, this Cat understands it.

Call him first thing in the morning.

    Thanks Gdevine,

Yea I'm scared out of my mind right now because I have read several thousand people have had this happen to them and have not recovered at all. I have heard a lot about Dr. Crisler, but have never tried to contact him. I am also unaware of what his specific protocols are for treatment. My anxiety and depression hit me so hard whenever I do research on the topic. But I'm at the point where I need to. I can't afford to fly to see him, but maybe I can contact my email and seek treatment that way.

I saw in a thread here someone mentioned acupuncture, and I looked into it and though this could be a perfect 1st treatment option. There are really no side effects and from my understanding of finasteride damage, it's neurological and not directly hormone related. Wonder if acupuncture can help open these pathways and reverse some of the side effects I have. Has anyone here ever tried acupuncture for any reason, and with success?

    Acupuncture won't fix this man.

If you have a Doctor you're working with now Dr. Crisler will consult for a small fee.

So if you have insurance and it will cover it this is probably your best path.

You need the correct medical attention to get restarted...if you can get restarted...TRT may be with you for the rest of your life.

As long as it doesn't have Finasteride as an active ingredient in it.
