Finding a doctor and money questions

Hey guys I have been reading a lot on this site and I find you all to be very helpful and informative. I live near Dallas and am looking for a Doctor in this area. If anyone knows of one please let me know. As stated in a previous post I went to a Doctor in my area who does this and it was like others said in their post. The nurse called me and said I was normal with a 4oo in the Test range. They did not give me any other information about E2 etc so I am skeptical on if they know exactly what they are doing.

Also I have looked on the web for the Dallas area and found prices from some Docs and they say 500 for initial consultation/BW and around 200 plus for monthly medications. That seems a little high knowing that Test cyp for example from a pharmacy without insurance cost 80 dollars for a 10cc vial at 200mg/cc. Are the other medications that may be associated with this that expensive to raise the cost to 200/month? This is also without growth hormone if that is needed which we all know is very pricey. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone knows a good Doctor in my area. If I can receive PM’s please send me one. Thanks!!!

Try locating an anti aging clinic in your area that lets you self inject and fill your own scripts. I found mine using the link in the sticky: www . a4m.com/directory . html

My initial visit was $200 and have a follow-up every 6 months at $100 ea. I get my blood work done with my insurance but you can use privatemdlabs at $50 using coupon codes. My test was $65 at costco (non-members price) and HCG was $100 shipped for 2 months worth (8,000 IU - taking 1,000 IU per week) at a compounding pharmacy. I then purchase OTC Pregnenolone and DHEA as well as the basics like Vitamin D3, fish oil, multi, etc (most people already take these so I don't really include them in the cost of a TRT protocal).

With the above in mind, it cost me a little over $1000 per year and around $85 per month with the HCG being the most expensive.

    Hope this helps,
    Dave

The bulk of your treatment is going to come from, first and foremost, a doctor who knows how to treat a male for quality of life, and secondly, from testosterone . The doctor may be pricier, but testosterone is cheap. Not only is hGH not required, it's not very widely prescribed. It's very expensie and most people on this board are not on hGH. I don't know of anyone offhand who is actually.

Other costs may inclulde HCG and an aromatase inhibitor such as generic anastrozole. An AI is definitely as-needed and you may not need it. It's not expensive.

Nonetheless, with a T level of 400, it's reasonable to think you can avoid TRT and "naturally" get that level up to mid-range. This of course depends on numerous factors. Have you considered this avenue?

Sorry to drag up this thread. I had to install a new OS to my computer and lost all my info and passwords. I see gdevine said I should wait. Is that reference to lowtestosterone.com?? I went on the site but found nothing that said anything about physicians. I am going to get another BW done in a couple weeks and I will post those results. Let me know about what to wait fro lol.

I am near Dallas too. The Low T clinics are a good place to get started. If you have insurance you'll be looking at $120/month for everything and you don't have to self inject. They stopped providing HCG injections, though because insurance companies are not covering it anymore. They will give you a prescription and you an self inject. That adds cost and makes above referenced lowtestosterone.com look more and more attractive. The only downside being you ave to man up and self inject. Yikes! Not sure I am there yet (grins)
