HRT 101: What determines if a drug makes it past the liver?
So test can be taken orally, but it is hard on the liver. So injections are preferred. hCG exists in oral form, but it won't make it past the liver, so for our purposes it needs to be injected.
My AI of choice is Arimidex , and I take it orally. Is this tearing ny liver up?
What determines how effective s med is orally versus intravenously, and why are some drugs liver toxic versus being ok to take in pill form?

Arimidex isn't liver toxic and is readilly boiavailable.
hCG is destroyed by the first pass metabolism, so, it's not liver toxic but does not make it into the body in sufficients amounts.
(most) orals AAS are chemically modified to survive first pass metabolism, but they present liver toxicity dose and duration dependant. On top of that, injected steroids are estherfied to allows a more steady release in time. The ester chain needs to be celaved from the molecule before it can be effective. So, if taken orally, they would be eliminated before they become effective.
There is no rule of thumbs to determine witch drug will be toxic or biavailable. You hace to rely on past experiences and reseach done on the pharmakodicamics of these molecules.
