How safe is Pregnenolone?
I have read a lot of controversy whether Pregnenolone is considered safe. I have came to understand it is considered very unstable to put into your system without monitoring many variables. Other says it's safe at small doses but not large doses. Any opinions?

I'd be interested in reading something controversial if you have it. Otherwise, it's an excellent choice to a protocol. Large doses are not needed. Preg is basically a transformer hormone and will change into what your body needs at the given time...

What the wise one above said; read the sticky on HCG there's very good information in there on Preg and DHEA.
As noted, in low doses it's very safe but like all things some men will over respond so monitoring E2 is important.
It's all but impossible to measure Preg levels as most of it is stored in tissue and not blood stream.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah, I do a lot of research and I have seen some controversy. I'd be happy to look and post it.
About the E2 comment. I have just not been able to get a doctor or lab to test me with the sensitive assay. Nobody seems to know what it is or that you can get do it. Any suggestions on how to go about testing it?

Here's the link for that test and it's description:
http://www.privatemdlabs.com/lab_tes...4&search=#1001
Estradiol, Sensitive
Description: This sensitive estradiol assay is designed for the investigation of infertility, particularly in situations where low estradiol levels can be expected. The analytic range of the assay is appropriate for the assessment of the low levels of estradiol typically observed in men, prepubertal girls, and postmenopausal women. Estradiol levels are useful in the diagnosis of precocious puberty in females and along with gonadotropins can help establish the cause. Estradiol levels in the prepubertal range can help to confirm the diagnosis of delayed puberty in females.
Includes: E2 ; Estradiol-17 Beta.

Good responses and i think it's great you brought this up.
While I was shopping for preg some guy in a supplement shop went into a diatribe as why not to take it. i didn't tell him about my protocol but was shocked to hear him present an opinion so strong without knowing anything else about why I was going to take it.
It seems that those in the know support preg in a TRT protocol and personally, I felt a lot sharper mentally after a few weeks of taking 100 mg per day. I'll find out soon via BW how else it may be helping.

Dr.Crisler, considered one of the leaders of HRT for men, did an episode about it on Superhuman Radio which you can listen to here: http://www.***************.com/shr-9...r-hormone.html
He considers it safe, and he recommends it be administered in the form of a topical solution you rub on. I seem to remember him saying something like "unlike Test, which you need to concern yourself with accidentally transferring to your wife, pregnenolone is safe" and wouldn't harm your significant other.
Unlike Crisler, I believe the vets here say take it in a pill.
EDIT: My link has been censored, but it is SHR Ep #939 if you google...

Crisler actually likes both pill and cream. When it comes to people with anxiety, he is especially favorable of oral pregnenolone specifically. He says that many patients don't need Rx anxiety meds after taking pregnenolone.
As far as the safety, I think it's pretty damn safe stuff. it's been sold OTC for many years now, and the only real negative I can think is if it is dosed too high one might exacerbate an estradiol sensitive person from the extra progesterone. This is not likely though, but I'm merely pointing out its possibility.
