    Syringe and plunger utilization

Currently I have only 23x1 syringes my doctor prescribed. I use a new needle and plunger every injection and one needle I keep reusing to draw out t-cyp every time by unscrewing new needle from plunger and screwing in the drawing needle then replacing again with the new after the draw.

My question is, 1) would it be a bad idea to use the same plunger every time and just replace the needle? It seems like when I draw out "X" amount of t-cyp and then replace with the new needle and squeeze the air out, I end up with less in the plunger than I originally drew out. I know this is because I am now filling the empty new needle and barrel with the cyp.

    2) Would using the same plunger be unsanitary and not worth risking infection or something else?

I know I would waste less product and it would be way cheaper to just buy needles this way, but really not my main concern.

    Thanks

You are already risking infection here. Do not re-use the draw pin either. It is never ok to re-use any part of it plunger or pin. Be responsible and always change everything including the drawing pin.

Just draw with the 23g needle. It doesn't take that long. I draw with a 29g needle!

Syringe/needle only costs 10 cents. Why keep using the same used needle? I don't understand why people switch needles for drawing and injecting in the first place...seems like an unnecessary hassle.

As far as the wasted cyp...I started leaving a bubble in the syringe so that when I inject, the bubble fills the dead space instead of the oil.

Woah! I'd be ready for my next injection by the time i was done - 23 works easier. But I never inject with the same pin I draw with.

Why? First off, the needle gets a little dull from going into the vial. Next, I really don't want to use a needle that touched anything that has been sitting around. A sterile out of the package needle is the way to go. But everyone has their owns ways of doing things. To each their own.

Agree with whats above. Don't risk any kind of infection by re-using any part of a needle/syringe. They are pretty cheap when ordered in bulk, lots of medical supplies stores on the internet. Or click above on the ar-r banner and check their prices. Definitely don't skimp on the supplies bro.
