Just started TRT - Test E 150mg once a week. Have some quesstions

    Hi Everyone,

I finally started on TRT and my doc has me on 150mg Test E once weekly but from everything I read this dose should be broken up into 2x weekly injections. Since I will be injecting myself does everyone suggest 2x week (alternating IM and SubQ)?

Other info: No AI needed as my E2 is low. He will evaluate in 6-weeks from next bw.

Also he is not firm believer in hcg during protocal but suggests every 3 mths. I didn't disagree as he seemed knowledgable (has HCG clinic for weight loss) but thought I would just order on my own and administer myself. Why would a HCG expert not put me on it? Issue could be that HCG for weight loss is usually dosed higher and I would only need 500iu weekly. He only get's 10000iu which is too much for me. He also has no problem me getting my own and adding it in.

On a side note, I received my first injection Wed afternoon and I have come down with an upper respiratory infection. This is strange coincidence that I happen to get sick right after my injection. I've been reading something about test-flu. Any thoughts on this? I can't remember that last time I got sick so this was a surprise.

You can split up the dose to even it out or balance out your plasma levels, but its not needed considering you're on such a low dose and its just for TRT.

I would never shoot any oil sub Q.

AI would be good to have on hand, but follow your odctors orders. If you have any discomfort in your nipples or discharge. Call him right away and get an AI.

I would get the HCG if your doctor has no issue with you doing it on your own.

You could have a test flu or you could have hit a vein. When I hit a vein and inject. I always get this massive cough, and issues with my lungs. It goes away and it does not turn into an infection though. You should not be getting sick every time you inject though. Usually test flu comes on like any regular cold and goes away. At least that what has happen to me in the past. I have never had an infection right after each shot. Thats doesnt seem right. I would ask your doctor if this problem persists.

It's perfectly fine to inject your test SQ. There are a number of threads in here re the subject.

Go to youtube.com and search for Dr. John Crisler's instructional video on why and how to do it correctly.

Twice per week protocol will keep more stable serum levels with the added benefit of better E2 control. Think of it this way: Less injected at one time = less spike in E2 as E follows T. Unfortunately most people even on TRT doses still need a small amount of an AI, but the goal should be none if at all possible. BW is the only way to tell and needs to be done frequently when you start a protocol or make changes to one. Adding HCG in and of itself is a change that can cause an issue with your E. How your body metabolized the T as well as your bodyfat and many other factors play into all this.

Other info: No AI needed as my E2 is low. He will evaluate in 6-weeks from next bw. It will rise so monitor carefully and make sure you get a senstive E2 assay which is specific to males. If you use labcorp I can give you the proper codes to they don't screw it up. Many of the lab workers are just not familiar with it and can easily incorrectly mark it

Also he is not firm believer in hcg during protocal but suggests every 3 mths. He also has no problem me getting my own and adding it in. He runs an HCG clinic and rakes the money in no doubt but he doesn't know enough to prescribe it for TRT? Houston, we have a problem. He won't put you on it as he's really not an expert. But I'm sure he's a good businessman! Remember, HCG is not just for your testicals as you have LH receptors throughout your body as well.

Agree with abstract that you may have nicked a vein. Monitor it and if it continues see your doc.

    in bold above.

Like they say; "to each their own".

Here's the link to the video on SQ injections of Testosterone if anyone is interested; so many more benefits to inject SQ over IM as you will see from this cutting edge TRT Physician.

    Listen to what he says...

You know why you need HCG and why it's important to your long term health...right???
