Painful Ejaculations
The question is what to do about them. A little history:
Eight months ago I started with a very good urologist who has prescribed 5mg cialis along with 0.4mg Tamsulosin both daily for BPH. Also started me on TRT with Androgel . I had an immediate improvement in my BPH and ED - and low T levels.
About five weeks ago, I switched to test cyp shots of 100mg/week with Hcg , 250iu twice per week. (I discussed this on other threads.) Started having great difficulty with urination again and had a very painful ejaculation just this evening. My very unscientific conclusion is this has something to do with my new T delivery, namely shots of test cyp.
Will be contacting my urologist with this update but in the meantime I'd like to know what solutions others have experienced.
Is an increase in the dose of Tamsulosin ever prescribed?
I will be stopping test cyp shots and going back to gel - mainly because I just like Adrogel better and do well on it. I wonder if this will be the solution.

I can't really contribute much but I can say that I've never heard of or read about someone having painful ejaculation's due to test cyp.
Best of luck to you.
Let us know how it goes.

If it aint broke don't fix it I say!
That's really the best advice I can give you as I don't know enough about tamsulosin to comment!

Neither have I. I don't think there is a direct connection in that sense. But from what I know there is a connection to high T levels and rising PSA. My PSA is within range - 2.9 - but it has increased incrementally since I began TRT. I've read that happens but then settles back down again. Maybe I've reached a threshold where I'm becoming symptomatic again - and this could have been with any delivery system. I just don't know. Maybe my PSA will go down in time and I'll reach some sort of equilibrium. I don't know this either. That's why I'm curious to hear what others have experienced - whatever delivery system they have.

Talk to your doc about the possibility of prostate related issues.

I experienced a similar ordeal several years ago, it turned out to be an infection in the ejaculatory duct/ urethra region, which is right there with the prostate. That was before any HRT, so it wasn't induced by any hormonal medications. Antibiotics got it resolved fairly quick for me.

Vette,
Thanks for the feedback. I was on Augmentin (potentiated amoxicillan) for two weeks to take care of a URI related ear infection so I think a UTI can be ruled out at this point.
I see my urologist monthly for blood work. Spoke to his PA last week about this and she said a raised PSA goes with the territory. I'm still going to call today to discuss this further.
