    Doctors ignore requests for extensive bloodwork. Looking for suggestions.

    How is everyone getting this extensive blood work so quickly/easily? Private labs?

    Both my endo and urologist are not open to my requests for extensive bloodwork, and will only test for the obvious.

    I added HCG 3 weeks ago and feel worse. I don't want to wait for my next apt in 2 months to get results and I don't want to stop HCG until I know what's up.

    They use Labcorp, can get the cheap female hormone panel and with the discount it's about $50...need to ask for the sensitive assay E2 #140244 to get a meaningful male estradiol lab.

    What's the reasoning for not giving you panels? Id find another doc. I just got bloodwork done which the doc only had testosterone and estradiol pulled, but I just called and added a whole bunch of other stuff and they just added them.

    Are you on a TRT protocol?

    Why "just added HCG "?

    Need to know more about you and what you're doing.

    What the above guys said. And remember, your doc works for you. Not the other way around. As long as your requests are legitimate he should be accomodating you. He's not paying for it. Very aggravating to me.

    Thank you for the replies.

    I've been on TRT since November 2012. I'm 32 and 180lbs. Diagnosed with secondary per very low TT (320) LH (.6) and FSH (2.6). Started Androgel and 2 months later switched to Test Cyp 100mg weekly.

    Last BW was on 2/28/13 and was four days after my last shot.
    TT 839 (280 - 800)
    E2 29.2 (0 - 40)
    SHBG 28 (10 - 80)
    Free Test: 33.2 (12 - 25)

    Urologist was happy and said i didn't need HCG . The retracting of my balls said otherwise.

    So I added it 3 weeks ago at 250 iu 2xWeek. My libido is low and skin is oily so it's obviously doing something my body doesn't like, with exception to my balls feeling much better.
    I'd like to find out the reason quickly and easily without going back to my endo or urologist.

    When you show up in person can you ask for the sensitive assay or do you have to pay extra?

    I'd call or email PrivateMD and ask them...if you order the test from Labcorp and pay them I think it will be a higher price.

    You might want to take 40-45mg per pin because that 839 four days after last pin was nice if not a little strong but then you added in HCG which might have boosted your Test quite a ways.

    This is the one I'm going to get in the future, just have to pin them down on the E2 lab:

    Hormone Panel for Females

    Description: ***Both MALES and FEMALES order this panel, please be sure to enter the gender that you want reference ranges for when placing your order, as each gender has different reference ranges for these tests. ***

    This panel will help diagnose the onset of menopause. Significant deviations from the normal range may require further evaluation by your physician.

    Includes:
    -Estradiol, serum;
    -Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH);
    -Luteinizing Hormone (LH);
    -Testosterone , serum;
    -Complete Blood Count (CBC): Hematocrit; hemoglobin; mean corpuscular volume (MCV); mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH); mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC); red cell distribution width (RDW); percentage and absolute differential counts; platelet count; red cell count; white blood cell count; immature granulocytes.
    -Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CMP): A:G ratio; albumin, serum; alkaline phosphatase, serum; ALT (SGPT); AST (SGOT); bilirubin, total; BUN; BUN:creatinine ratio; calcium, serum; carbon dioxide, total; chloride, serum; creatinine, serum; globulin, total; glucose, serum; potassium, serum; protein, total, serum; sodium, serum.

    Patient Instructions: Patient should fast for 12 hours preceding collection of specimen. If using a testosterone cream please be sure you have not rubbed any into the antecubital area of your arm for the last 24 hours as it can give elevated results.

    Sorry to hear your Docs dont cooperate. I had the same problem with Kaiser and ended up going to privateMD labs and paying on my own..Ran me about $250 for everything I wanted done. Took my results elsewhere and changed out of Kaiser to PPO. On the road to recovery.. Just bite the bullet and get em done on your own

    Doctors that don't respect or listen to their patients don't deserve to have patients. Find a new doc.
