Pregnenolone question?

It says on the label do not use if you have low good cholesterol(HDL)? Anyone know why? I was wanting to start taking pregnenolone, but have low hdl.

I never noticed this. I'll have to look into it as well since my HDL has always been under 20 where as is shows you should be above 40 :-/

You'll only find this warning on products manufactured in California, as the state requires this. California can be quite aggressive with warnings. I've seen a bottle with this warning that my brother was using. To my knowledge, there are no studies proving ill effects.

Mine isn't manufactured in California. It's manufactured in Florida.

And Nyjetsfan- it doesn't say it can cause low hdl, it says consult a physician before taking if you have low hdl.

Read the detailed warnings on Vit C if you want a scare tactic.

Look into Slo-Niacin to help with your cholesterol as well as copious amounts of fish oil.

From what I read in the above link, crystalline Niacin is the way to go... the flushing sucks though, but it also stated to start out at 250mg and work your way up to 1000-1500mg.

I think i'll order a few bottles since it's so cheap and get blood work in a couple months since I am dangerously low. Looks like I will be upping my Omega 3's as well and I already take 3,000mg of combined EPA/DHA via 10 capsules :-/
