Exclamation just got a call back from the clinical trial team

I signed up for a clinical trial for a new testosterone oral medication. I think it's for the new clomid e isomer. I got a voicemail from them just now saying to call.

I'm kind of nervous taking something in a ''clinical trial''

any thoughts? also don't oral steroids kill the liver?

    Oral steroids kill the liver?...

What do you even mean by that?

Clomid is not a "steroid " in the typical layman sense of the word... it's also very studied and been around for decades. There is even a 3 year study of clomid showing its safety and efficacy. A 3 year study in just about anything is rare and very useful. I would expect similar safety from the isolated clomid isomer -- although do understand I am not a doctor.

Personally, I look forward to Androxal. I think it represents something very, very significant in the world of male HRT. I also would have gladly gone on this drug prior to starting TRT if both my doctor was halfway decent and the drug was available at the time.

This is the first time I've heard of Androxal... Is this an oral alternative to injections?

It's not that simple, but the answer is a roundabout yes.

A more accurate description would be it is another avenue for testosterone replacement . There are some threads on this topic I believe. It's not talked about a lot though because at this point it is just in development. I know of nobody who has take the drug.

i thought it was common knowledge that oral steroids harm the liver?
I am wary of something that is still in experimental phases, because even though it's a clomid clone it still isnt the same drug. I also would be pissed if i got the sugar pill!
Also, ive seen some bad sides from people taking clomid, like floaters which ialready have a history of...and also ive heard it causes cancer.

im still considering it though....i really want to raise my testosterone .

What I think HRT student meant is that clomid and androxal aren't 17-aa steroids . 17-aa steroids are the type of oral drugs that the liver has to break down, taking a toll on liver function in the long run.

Clomid is a mixed estrogen agonist/antagonist, binding to estrogen receptors in the brain and inactivates them. This makes your hypothalamus think you need more estrogen, so it increases testosterone production. The problem is it binds to estrogen receptors in other parts of the brain/body and activates them, causing other unwelcome side effects.

Androxal supposedly bypasses all of these side effects since it does not inadvertently activate estrogen receptors unnecessarily.

androxal sounds like a winner of a drug, but i think ill wait until it has been fda approved. Worst case scenario im sure a hormonal doctor with knowledge would prescribe it.
