Low-T Endo & HRT appointments Update

Yesterday (4/8/2013) I had appointments to both my endocrinologist and my HRT dsoctor.

First was my endo. She spent about 10 minutes with me reviewing my previous labs and said that I do not need testosterone replacement but do need to increase my Thyroid meds. She wants to see me in 6 weeks and gave me a lab to check my thyroid not my testosterone.

Second was the HRT doctor. We spent about an hour going over my labs. He would look at the numbers and then ask me questions. I also provided him all the previous labs in regards to testosterone that I had from the other doctors. He prescribed me the following:

10,000 IU of Vitamin D per day
St. Johns wort (to calm my brain) daily
    Theanine daily
    SAME daily
    60mg Armour Thyroid
    HCG 2000u/ml 3X a week

He wants to double my free testosterone to around 130, bring my total testosterone to around 700 (or more), get my TSH reading to around 2.0, and vitamin D to around 55.

He confirmed that clomid has a tendancy to become ineffective over time. He want to see me in 8 weeks and wants me to have a cheerful and happy attitude next time.

The HCG will def. increase natural test. Make sure you have your doc check your estradiol as we know hcg will increase estrogen. Was your estradiol checked on BW that you and your doc discussed? Are you wanting to get on some form of testosterone or are you trying to avoid it and increase natural production with hcg? Do you have your BW posted on another forum? That's the vets 1st question So I figured I'd go ahead and get that out there. How old are you? And Finally are you pleased with your doctors protocol? Sorry for the 1000 questions, just trying to gather some useful info.

Yes estrogen was checked on my last BW it came in at 27. My bloodwork has been posted in another topic. Im 39. The doc said my total test was ok not great but ok. he thought my free test was low at mid 60's. Ill be pleased once I start to feel good about life.

Do you have your Thyroid labs?

What was the diagnosis for your Thyroid treatment?

    How old are you?

    Many questions...

Might want to consider adding in 50 mg of micronized DHEA as well; this helps with the conversion of FT4 to FT3 which is a good thing for all of us to be honest.

When I stop taking the thyroid medicine (which I have on occasion for several weeks or months) I get tired quickly and am irritable/anxious.
