Just started new TRT therapy with new doctor looking for advice..

Hey everyone! I have been on TRT for 2 years (low dose of andro gel for first year and then testim gel the past year) and just switch to a doctor who specializes in TRT.

I had used anabolics off and on since I was 24(I'm 33 now) until I was about 30 years old but didn't use proper PCT procedures, other than some tribulus between cycles.

Anyways, I stopped doing steroids after that and wanted to let my body start to produce its own testosterone again. I wanted to give my body a rest and also wanted to have children in the near future.

After a few months I was feeling pretty awful and could tell my testosterone was very low and I brought this up to my primary care phasician. He did blood work and I believe my total test was 298. I was about 30 years old at the time and I wanted to try TRT but he would only prescribe gels and injections were out of the question with him. He gave me andro gel 6 pumps a day but was clueless about HCG and would prescribe anything else. The andro gel worked pretty well with my sex drive ( it seemed to raise my DHT more than other forms of test I had used) but overall it was an issue with my wife touching the areas of application.

My insurance changed last year and only covered testim for gels so I switched to 1 tube a day of that which did not work as well and smell bad to my wife. I really didn't like testim at all, I even tried that stuff you roll on your armpits for a months which I didn't like either (Axium I think it's called).

About 3 months ago my wife decided she was ready to have a baby so I decided to stop taking my testim. I was fed up with it anyway! I started taking high doses of tribulus and yohimbe daily in an attempt to get my testosterone to kick start again while my wife stopped her birth control. After a couple months I was feeling awful again and my wife had not regulated her menstral cycle as of yet so I decided to seek new treatment with a new doctor specializing in TRT.

I saw him a few weeks ago for my blood work up and went bak this past Monday to get my results. I don't have all the results avaliable to me right now but he said my total test was 223, my thyroid was a little low, but that the thyroid could be because of my low T. He didnt tell me everything other blood test results looked good.

He wanted to put me on Test injections and arimidex 1mg 3 times a week which I though was way too much arimidex! I asked if I could hold off on the arimidex for now and he was ok with that. He told me that he wants to start me on a lower dose to test initially (140mg testosterone cypionate IM once weekly). I told him I was concerned with completely shutting my natural production down because I was trying for kids and such so he prescribed HCG 500iu 3 times a week. They compound their own HCG at their pharmacy which is premixed and easy to use.

I felt great the first 2 days and then my energy levels went back down a bit and I didn't know if it was my estrogen levels going up causing this or something else. I decided to split up my test dose to 2 weekly shots in order to keep my levels more even. My sex drive is still very low and my wife is getting on my case so I wanted to see if anyone had any advice on my dosing or anything else I could or should be doing that will help me.

I have a feeling he will end up upping my test dose to 200mg weekly in a couple months but I go back in 3 weeks so I can ask about any issues then if needed. Any feedback or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
    Mike

You need to edit your post and put it into correct grammatical paragraphs if you want a decent response from knowledgeable members here...I'd get a headache trying to read that post.

I doubt anyone members can help that much without full thourough blood work.
You need to have this done next time you see your doc, and get a copy of the results yourself!

It would have been nice if your doc attempted to find the cause of your low T and fix that instead of just bandaiding it with test. You mentioned possible thyroid issues. Yes, hypothyroidism can cause hypogonadism. You also need to have complete BW done including a full thyroid panel. An example of BW is in the Finding a Doc sticky thread.

If BW warrants you should also consider supplementing with D3 (maybe 5K IU per day) as well as micronized DHEA and Preg. Slow release would probably be most effective for you in the long run.

Splitting your dose is a great idea for more stable levels. Your doc's amount of adex is entirely too much. I say this all the time, the avg amount of adex used on a 500mg per week cycle is .25 EOD. So, do the math here! You need to know your E2 level (sensitive assay) and monitor it as well. E2 rises so does shbg thus test drops. You need to keep this in a healthy range. LEF recommends 20-30 but it is subjective to how YOU feel.

500 IU HCG x3 per week is pretty much double the norm. This will also impact your test level as well as intra-testicular E2 which is not really controllable by arimidex .
