Looking for a Doc in SE Michigan... please help
Hello,
I am 33 years old and last year I was diagnosed with low T and received a prescription for testosterone . Since then I moved to Michigan and have been searching for a new Doctor to handle my treatment. None of the doctors I have seen will treat me based on what on previous treatment. I have had two blood tests in Michigan and both Urologists have told me that both 134 and 147 "numbers" are in the normal range and will not help me.
I have a good portion of the normal symptoms some of them are BAD. I cant make it through most work days without having to take a nap on lunch and its ridiculous. When I was being treated I felt great almost all the time.
I have insurance and need to use that so I need a legit doctor as I cannot pay all the money a month that these online places want...
Anyone out there that will help... ???

Call the Doc's at LowTestosterone.com they will even pay for your airfare.
Another option is Dr. John Crisler in East Lansing I believe.
Both will give you the insurance papers to submit to your insurance company.
Most of the top Docs in TRT don't except insurance today...that will change as it becomes more mainstream.

Thats part of the problem. I cant drop that kind of cash up front and hope insurance covers it. Something tells me I am screwed on this, at least for now.
Thanks though... appreciate the reply.

holy moly...the FUGG is wrong with those uros? NOOOOO normal range goes below 193, and that lab is clueless. The lab i use lists 348 as their bottom test number! It is commonly accepted by even the dumbest drs that 300 is low!
With that being said, go to the a4m site, or search for an anti aging clinic. If you have good insurance, and dont need a referral, get a list of the urologists in your network, and call them all asking if they do trt.

Not necessarily the best option, but you might check with your GP. Mine will do the test but no hCG .

OT: Print the HCG sticky here or go Google Dr. Crisler's paper on HCG and email it to him and tell him you'd appreciate it if he would take the time to read is so he can learn why it's important to keep your testes alive.
Never amazes me; the "Doctor" will prescribe Testosterone but not understand HPTA suppression and what it can do to a man.
God forbid if you ever want to get restarted...
OP: Find a good compounding pharmacy in your area. Google maps is great for this. Call them all and ask if they can refer a Doc who prescribes TRT in men including HCG and AI if necessary. You can then call each of them to see if they take insurance.
Your Doc doesn't have a clue; you are clinically low according to just about every lab I know. Just look at LabCorp and you will see. You need to have a serious conversation with your Doc; he may not just want to prescribe hormones and is just pushing you off.

Okay...
I do not have the numbers, just what the Docs told me over the phone. Ive pretty much been too "upset" by the phone conversations that I havent gone in for the blood work and neither doc was interested in the old docs labs.
I spent a little time looking for a Anti Aging Clinic near by and found one that appears to take insurance so I have a request in for an appointment.
I know the first time I was treated it wasnt right but just having that taste of a semi normal life and then having it ripped away from me is extremely upsetting as I am sure many of you could relate.
Thanks everyone for your support

There's also a website (LEF.org) that has a search function to a list of "forward thinking" docs by zip code. I'm new and unable to post links yet, but if you go to the "Finding TRT Physicians" sticky, it is post #34. Just came across it less than an hour ago.
Gotta say tho, I've been giving a lot of thought to the LowT.com option now available. Seems it would eliminate much of the hassle of trying to get on TRT. I still have some questions about it tho and plan on throwing some questions out in a different thread soon.

Would you mind shooting me a private message and letting me know where you go? Could save me a whole lot of trouble...
