Pretty straight forward question guys, looking to give blood for the first time, just curious, does it take a day or so to recover energy wise or is a guy good to go train an hour later?
I will be doing it regardless was just curious if I needed to plan ahead training wise, thanks.
Generally your blood is replenished in 24 hours (assuming you donated a pint). That's how long I usually wait. But really if you eat and rest after donating, you could get back to the gym in 6 to 8 hours.
What abs ^^ said. Donating is easy. I went today actually and usually do it on an "off" day. They will tell you no strenuous exercise for 24hrs after....
I have donated gallons...Do your a favor and cool it, plenty of liquids and rest up 24hrs. Giving is good for them and also you...Good luckQuote:

What do you guys do when your BP is too high to have it drawn at a blood bank? I ran a test c cycle last year, and went to the blood bank to donate, but was refused as my BP was 153/105?
Your only a few digits high, if you had dropped that bottom number to 99, they would have let you donate. Grab yourself some ace inhibitors , not saying you have to stay on them, but am sure your doc won't mind prescribing with BP that high.Quote:

^^^^exactly correct, my temperature was 99.1 for some reason, the cutoff was 99.5, just squeaked by. Pulse, BP and hemoglouben were the other factors.. Anyway, show, if ur BP is running at the reading constantly u may want to look into that....
