hCG Dosage
My doctor prescribed 250 IUs of hCG every day. I told her I thought that was too much and would like to dial it back, and she was fine with that.
Initially I took it for five days straight at 250 IUs and felt great - really liked the results. I've dialed it back to MWF and, while it is still good, the 5X a week seemed to be better... more energy, testicles responded better and didn't creep up as much, libido stronger, etc. If I wanted to split the difference and do, say, 250 IUs MWF and Sat, would that be too much?
My test cyp protocol on top of the hCG is 50 mg 2X a week (Tuesday AM and Friday PM).
thanks for the input

Its best to speak to your doctor and just try different protocols that you respond to the best. This isnt one size fits all as you probably know, and what works well from one person can not work at all for the next. Generally speaking the dosages are correct for what you are saying above. Between 250-500IU per day. Either 2x per week up to everyday. I would recommend staying within these guidelines along with what your doctor advises and find what works best for you. Hope this helps.

Perfect. My doctor wanted me every day and was perfectly fine with me adjusting lower provided I let them know. I just didn't want to do something that raised any red flags... I'll try 4X a week next week and see how it goes.
Thanks for the feedback.

Ah, I'm glad to see you endorse and ED hCG schedule as I assume this means there is no refractory period with hCG administration. I had seen this idea thrown out sans supporting scientific literature but was never able to arrive at a definite answer either way.

So I got a script today using the pub med article. I am trying to find a pharmacy that sells it. I was asked once it is reconstituted, how long does a vial last refrigerated? Week? Five weeks? 10000iu vial using 250iu x2 weekly.

you're in for a shock...i'm paying 220 for novarel. pregnyl only costs 102, but they have been out of stock for years. I would advise asking the brand, as app is crap.

BCBSNC considers it a tier 1 med and covered, so it will be about ~$12 for me. Only problem is finding it here. Walgreen can get it as well as a small compounding pharmacy, just not sure which brand yet. Doc wrote HCG on the script - hah.
My doctor wrote it for 250iu every 5 days for 3 months. Good news is if the med only lasts for 30 days, regardless of medicine amount in the vial, then they have to give me a vial a month - so... Its only a 3 month script as he wanted to investigate it a little more before he went whole hog on it. At least it is a start, right?

Thanks for the info. Those posts were from 2006, so hopefully it is better... I just started hCG three weeks ago and the pharmacy gave me App (just checked this morning, never knew there was a branding difference). I have certainly noticed the difference from hCG - both how I feel and the fact that the family jewels are no longer orbiting my stomach and instead hang about 75% of where they used to be

Agree with LTM. Try some different protocols if possible. I did that several years ago when HCG was implemented in my protocol, and I kept track of its effectiveness with a series of labs throughout the process.

walgreens has novarel. im buying mine at walgreens...only thing is it's costing me 220!
i hate you lol
it's unfortunate that pregnyl is no longer i nstock as that is only 100 bucks for the same amount, and it is ranked as about the same as novarel(although people prefer novarel)

Do you have a SAMs Club near you? They are usually cheaper. I did a search and found goodrx on the Internet. Search for novarel and they have dicount coupons for the drug.

Like roxer said, find a Sam's Club or a Costco. They typically have great prescription prices. The big name pharmacies like Walgreens & CVS are the most expensive, they charge for the convenience of having a store on every corner like Starbucks.

When I first started TRT and found out about hCG I couldn't get any doctors who took insurance to either prescribe it or administer it. It took me several months of looking and research and now get it overseas. Corion and Hucog. It's RIDICULOUSLY inexpensive compared to the prices you guys have been talking about. Most important, it works. I've done my own research on the pharmacies that produce them and they are reputable. If anyone is interested, you can PM me and I'll give you the information.

Mike,
I started at 250 iu 3x weekly. Then I went to 250iu EOD, and now I'm on 150iu ED along with 3 pumps of Androgel . I'm responding well but I feel I need more of a push. It may be because of my age - 65 - but I don't know. I'm considering doing 250iu ED. What is your opinion of this for a man my age?

2Sox, do I need a script for it? If not, I'll take that info.. just can't seem to send you a PM from work right now if you don't mind sending me one instead. Thanks!

I assumed that discussing overseas pharmacies/pricing/pms would be discouraged due to recent events. Guess I was mistaken.

Price discussions are fine as long as it's in the context of legal HRT. As an example, you can't post the price of a source you get UGL test, but you can post your clinic's price, or a pharmacy price where you get your prescriptions filled.

You guys are talking prices but not IUs, so I can't compare. I get 5000 IUs for $55 at my pharmacy. How does that compare?

My compounding pharmacy charges me $55 per 5000 iu vial. Insurance reimburses me 100%.

Just thought I would point out something here. I also get my HCG from India, I use Corian which is been very good and consistant batch to batch, probably because its a wyeth subsidiary that makes it (much better than the sun pharma etc. Indian pharmas) and as said the shipping is almost as much as the HCG....this is easy enough to rectify, just order 5-10 of the 5000 IU kits and the shipping is only about 10% more than when you order one. Keep in mind that HCG before reconstituted has a pretty good shelf life particularly if kept cold so there is no problem ordering a years worth at a time.

No need to refrigerate powdered contents. Expiration date is on box with no directions to do so. But if someone feels better about refrigerating I guess it won't do any harm.
I get Corion from India also.Last edited by 2Sox; 05-26-2013 at 05:20 PM.
