Need empty capsules, where can I get them for Anastrozole
Doc gave me a script of 0.5mg caps and it says take every MWF. However from what I have read you only need 0.25mg as it is a suicide estro inhibitor. Is it possible to buy empty caps and half it up?

You can find empty caps on ebay. Search for empty gelatine capsules, or vegetarian capsules (if you're a vegetarian). They are a lot cheaper there than I have ever seen them in a shop.

I agree with Xcraider, the powder may not be mixed evenly so you could get an uneven doses if you split, besides the compounded adex capsule is very small and it would be very hard to measure the tiny amount of powder in it.

Interesting. .25mg 3x's a week is what's recommended in forum stickies. Could I just spread out the dose to like every 3rd or 4th day to get an equivalent dosage?

I break down capsules into small amounts using a jeweler's scale, although I agree if you can get your med in a smaller size it is much easier. Just make sure to agitate the capsule contents onto the scale on a clean piece of paper. Active ingredient and filler do sometimes have different densities or different particle sizes, so mixing (as mentioned above) is necessary.

Everybody is different gentlemen. Just because your buddy is on .25 anastrozole dosent mean you need .25 and .5 will kill you. Everybody responds differently to TRT. Please listen to your doctor and do what he says. The will trtained doc will interprete your labs and titrate your dose based on what they Rx you. If you change your dosage without telling the practitioner it messes the whole protocol up. To which degree a man aromatizes depends generally on how much body fat they have. The aromatase enzeme is in adipose tissue. The more fat a man has the more he will aromatase. Ive had patients that are 450 pounds that you cant even treat with testosterone because it all aromatizes into E2. They have to lose the weight and generally get under 300 pounds before you can treat.
Best plan of action for the new to TRT guy. Start a low dose of testosterone only no AI. Usually .9mg/kg body weight. at 5 weeks get labs checked and see where your E2 is. If symptomatic within the first 2 weeks of T dose (sensitive nipples) start a very low dose of anastrozole .25 2x per week. START LOW GO SLOW! If symptoms still persist after 5 days. Go up to .5. 2x per week. Continue this until symptoms go away and stay on that dosage. You should be having BW done at 5 weeks so at this point it should be right around the corner. Ideal E2 range is in between 20-30pg/ml. This is something your doc if he is Board certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative medicine is trained to do. Titrate you levels/dosages. DO NOT TAKE ANASTROZOLE BASED ON WHAT YOU READ HERE. ITS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYBODY. Taking too much will drop your E2 to 0 and is horrible for the heart and brain. taking to little can cause puffy sensitive nipples which if left untreated can form gynocomastia and only surgery will remedy this.Last edited by LowT Mike; 05-22-2013 at 12:33 PM.

^^^ Very true. The idea that you absolutely have to have an AI when on TRT is ridiculous and if that's ridiculous the idea that everyone needs the same amount is more ridiculous. For example, I've been on a TRT plan for 3yrs and I don't use an AI. My estrogen levels don't increase enough to warrant the use of an AI; in fact, use of one would hurt me.
Anyway...there's a lot of good info in a lot of the stickies but I'd approach it as general information. If you're living and dying by what stickies say you're hurting yourself.
