Test Cyp + Gel??
Guys, just wanted to get some thoughts, have been on AXIRON for about a year now and my coupon ran out and insurance will only cover TESTIM, ANDRODERM or injections, needless to say I don't want to use ANDRODERM, and as everyone knows TESTIM has that weird smell.
So discussed going on Test Cyp. injections 100 mg. per wk to start, then of course will switch to 50 mg 2x per wk. once I start injecting on my own.
Odd thing is my doctor wants me to continue using some sort of Trans-dermal along with the injection, so I have had 2 injections so far and am using a low dose of TESTIM daily, anybody ever tried this? Any thoughts? Doctor claims helps stay more balanced while using injections.
Myself I think it may be overkill, but thought why not get the best of both worlds.

i guess i could see his reasoning...as in as the total test goes down by the end of the week, the gel will give you a boost, but adding in hcg , and doing the shots twice per week should keep you covered.
testim is a good choice though if you're going for gels...but i've heard the smell isa love it or hate it thing

When i made the switch over from 200 mg a day cream to test cyp I did the same thing. After the 4th day of no cream my body went crazy lethargic. Test Cyp takes 4-6 weeks to fully kick in so I addend in a little of cream like 50 mg a day for the next 2 weeks or so just so i didn't feel like shit until the cyp kicked in. I was told not to by several on here but i did it anyway. They don't know me, I do what I want. It seemed to help but i see no reason to long term.

Has this guy checked your estrogen lately? Its gonna spike with this much test. It don't matter if you have 600 to 1200 test if your estrogen is high your going to feel horrendous

I agree with dread. You have to keep an eye on your E2. IMO an ai should be s.o.p. for this protocol.
I started on 100mg of test cyp for about a month. Switched back to Androgel . A long story...
But I dabbed just a touch of the gel on the head of my pencil once while I was on the shots and it drove my libido off the charts for 24 hours! Everyone has different responses to different protocols. But if a doc told me to use both, I'd strap on my seat belt because I know I'd be in for a wild ride!
In fact, the clinic I went to for test cyp has patients sign a paper promising that they would not use gels while on shots. AND if it was found out that they did, the clinic reserved the right to drop them as a patient. I was always interested in the reason for this. Never asked.

I take .25mg anastrozole every three or four days - depending on what my body is telling me. Just upped my dose from 2 pumps to 3 pumps of Androgel per day and also just upped my dose of hCG to 250 iu ED. Feeling more energy and increased libido already. I like the steady state of gels better than shots, I can adjust my own dose easily and the effects are felt very fast.

I know Crisler recommend 100iu ED and that sounded good to me. (Crisler also recommends a range of 100iuED up to to 500iu ED. I figured I'd go in the middle.) I went to 150ED for a about a week and concurrently just increased to 3 pumps Androgel ED, four days ago. Felt a little better. No complaints. Just yesterday I upped to 250iu hCG . Took another shot this a.m. Felt some changes fast. Feeling rather libidinous and much more energetic. Not sure if it's the extra pump I just added or it's the extra hCG - or the combination. Might have to dial down my hCG back to about 150iu ED or a little more. By the way, I'm 65 (but in the shape of a man in his forties - truly) so I'm thinking I need a little extra bump up to take this into consideration. What is your opinion, Kel?

Thanks for the encouragement, Kel. Before TRT, I felt that there WAS a fight! Now I feel I'm on a journey and mother nature and I are walking hand in hand because my quality of life is so much better.
Anyway, I have bw done monthly with my urologist. My GP does a more comprehensive testing once monthly too so I essentially have new bw every two weeks. Estradiol is always checked and seems okay but I "convert" to E pretty easily (I've heard it comes with age. Or maybe it's just me.) so I take that .25mg adex every 3 or 4 days. And as I've posted before, my body tells me exactly when I need that dose. I just start getting fuzzy brained and sluggish. Nothing serious but I'm sensitive to the transition.
