4th Time Charm?

Saw my 4th doctor today in my seeming never ending quest to find the right doc in Indianapolis.
5 vials of blood later and a whole lot of panels later, I should know something in 3-5 days.

Interesting, doctors do not recommend prostate cancer test unless you go on HRT. Only 1% of men taking the test actually have prostate cancer, and up to 30% of men who have taken the test have false positives that require invasive testing or actually lead to chemo... Doctor said that when he puts me on HRT, he has to, by law, do a prostate cancer screening because of you have prostate cancer, HRT will make it explode like pouring gas on a fire. Low T can actually be a good thing in this case.

congratulations on finding a doctor. regarding T and prostate cancer relationship is old school, the truth is more estrogen is found in prostate cancer than T. which makes sense why older men get prostate problems, not because their test level go up as they age but their estrogen goes up. can't tell you for certain but the prostate problem could be due to low testosterone or high estrogen. my PSA levels gos us when my e2 goes up, but while my free T is above normal and e2 low my PSA is low as well.

there are a lot of myths out there regarding prostate cancer and testosterone replacement . it's pretty much the biggest controversy in male TRT, but there is no real evidence to support it. lots of good doctors write about this exact subject.

test gel is okay, what you should be concerned about is an improper protocol.

other than trial and error, how do you tell if you are on the right protocol? feeling better? feeling 25% better is a lot different than feeling 50%, 75% 100% better.

Sometimes it is a lot of trial and error. It usually takes time to get it dialed in right. Your dr will be able to track and know when the numbers are right by bw and more bw. You will be able to tell by when you feel right! Not better, you're going to feel better, but when you feel right !

No probly not, if it is find another doc! Too much roller coaster ride. Doc will/should start you out with a dose high enough to being your numbers up to where they think is par( this is the tricky part) and run you on that dose for proply a couple months, ( give it time to settle in ) run bloods, maybe up your dose maybe not but keep you on and then run bloods again( when the think you should, cause for real everybody's different, and you want to have bloods often at first for sure, got to make sure to keep estrogen at bay. But once you start this journey you don't want to turn back. Take your supps, take your anastrozole, live real healthy, and enjoy the wonderful ride! Once you get things dailed in stay on your protocol. Don't mess up by blasting around doses. It will cause all kinds of issues that you would rather avoid! And you'll know when the mix is right because like I said earlier, you won't just feel better, you're gonna real right!

OK new blood work in today.

Test 266 (241 - 827 NG/DL)
TSH 2.24 (.35 - 4.94 uI/mL) - not sure what this is
Albumin 4.0 (3.5 - 5.0GM/DL)
Sex Hormone Binding 29 (7-50 NMOL/L)
His report says that using the above numbers my Free Test is at 6 which is borderline and Bio-Available Test is at 127 which is mid range.....

So by this it appears the bulk of what test I have is bound up in the protein.
He wants me to do a sleep study and then get tested again in 6 months. Another 6 months of feeling like shit....

Cannot go to the Test Clinic in Texas... my health insurance will not pay for out of state treatment is similar treatment is available instate.... also since I am technically above the lower test limit, it is a quality of life issue and not medical. Guess what... they don't pay for that either.

Crap this has been a f&^%ed say!
