I had my husband's doc run a thyroid panel on him, because I suspected hypothyroidism, and after much argument, she agreed (she thought he had vitamin d deficiency), and his TSH is elevated, and his TPO antibodies are as well. So he has Hashi's.
He also had some questionable kidney results (elevated Na, urea and creatinine).
Given how I observe lots of coincidence of hypothyroidism and low testosterone in men on the board here, naturally now I am wondering about his hormones.
I expect getting hormones tested will be another battle, and I don't have time to do all the research I need to work out which tests are very important (and searching for recommended tests naturally returns 3.4 billion matches). I can't have a laundry list, because I am going to have to argue for these, so I need the basic ones that will point me in the right direction.
Would someone be willing to help? Doc appointment is at 9am.
