    Need Advice...

    I am 34, 265lbs, approx 25%bf, 6'2".

My natural testosterone levels around the low 200 range/ estrogen 17ish..

I am planning to get back onto a TRT plan, along with a healthy diet and exercise.
It has been about 2 months since my last treatment and I lost most of the progress that i had made in the 3 months that i was on TRT. I was given 250units of HGC 2x weekly along with anastrozol 2x a week, to go with the 200mg of testosterone cypionate once each week.

I am NOT looking for a short-cut. I understand that the best way to get into shape is through proper diet and exercise and am simply trying to restore my levels to normal, so that I can have a normal life again..

    -thanks

What questions do you have specifically and how do you think the people on the forum can be most useful to you?

I suppose my specific questions are as follows:

What should i ask my doctor about regarding my treatment?
What "should" he be considering for me to balance the testosterone ? (he admittedly does not know much about TRT)
How do i get to the point where i no longer need TRT? Or is that even a possibility?

I think that the people here can be most useful to me in the sense that they can give advice for diet, exercise and healthy living, as well as help me to ask my doctor the right questions and possibly make a few new friends in the process.

I couldn't afford it anymore. Insurance would not cover the costs, but i only recently found out that my doctor could put me on a treatment plan and it would be covered, provided that the medical providers are approved by them..

*Another reason that I am on here is because I have received many different opinions from different TRT clinics that conflict with one another, in some cases...I am just hoping to weed through the "crap" so I am not playing guinea-pig.
Hopefully I will get some helpful advice and info that I can share with my doctor.

TRT is generally a lifetime treatment.

Well, unfortunately, i am all too familiar with the "life-time" treatment scenario. Good to know though, thanks again!

Do you think it would be better or even beneficial to simply start with the hcg to help my body increase its own production of testosterone ? rather than risking the obvious and reverting to my previous treatment plan..because of my body fat, etc.

Muscle is very serious in his reply. TRT is lifetime. A man doesn't just stop when he feels better. If you are unfamiliar with TRT, it doesn't work that way.

It's my understanding from others on the forum that you can get the correct advice and treatment from the sponsors of this forum - lowtestosterone.com. I'd suggest you look into it.

Or you can give your location and others may be able to refer you to a good TRT doctor in your area.

It really depends on the cause of your hypoandrogenism. Some docs will try a course of HCG therapy to see if they can restart your natural production but if you've been suppressed for an extended period, HCG therapy will be minimally effective at best. It may be worth a try depending how you feel at present. If your levels are well below the lower limit of normal and you are exhibiting hallmarks of low T, you would achieve more immediate relief from TRT.

I can understand that the treatment isn't a cure for low testosterone , but rather a treatment for the symptoms that low testosterone can cause. i was just hoping there was a chance that i could eventually cycle off, since regular exercise is supposedly the natural way to up ur test levels. I am one of those guys who asks a lot of questions, whether they sound stupid or not, because information is my drug of choice..

    Thank you again..
during my previously short-lived trt, i did notice a big difference in my quality of life in general, so your reply hits home with me. I am always hesitant to put anything into my body without checking with many different sources, including my doctors.

I would start by reading the stickys to educate urself. This will give u ammunition for whn I go to the Docs. Everything u asked is explained above. Once I truly start TRT it's for a lifetime. U can also call Liw t and ask thm to explain some things. There protocol is wht u r looking for. Good luck!

The "stickies" are in the masturbation thread. Lol!!!

Just kidding. That refers to commonly read threads that are posted conveniently for quick access. I'm on my phone and can't give you a direct link but the other members will point you in the right direction.

They are the threads at the top of this forum that don't move. Great educational info in them. Your first start is with a competent doctor. If your current doc doesn't really understand hormones then don't waste your time there. It will do nothing but drop an anchor in either your natural recovery or TRT. A competent doc can really save you time and effort.

If you have some recent blood work why don't you post the significant parts of it with ranges so we can take a look.

    Welcome!
