Clomid therapy for low testosterone levels

    What's everyone's thoughts on this?

I have low test, the doc doesn't seem interested in treating this, I have another appointment in 8 weeks to get another test (this is to see what my RBCs count and liver values are) not to check or review my test levels......

I am going to mention the testosterone values but im not holding my breath on getting any help.

anyway, ive been thinking about using clomid at 12.5mg a day until then to see if this will help raise my levels as I am sick of having these symptoms.

    is this a good idea?

what are the implications of doing this?

    cheers for any help

it won't be a fix, only for short term, might or might not work. I know you recently poste3d your BW but not enough to make any assessment, you need to find the root of the problem and treat it, trying drugs may work but they could also backfire.

    cheers bass

that's the only blood work im getting from the docs, I have used private blood works but the cost is fairly high, im saving for a LH and FSH test which will cost £150!.........im in no position to be paying out that kind of money straight up.

self medication will most likely be the only way, with paying for my own blood work also.

at 31 TRT for me is a last resort as I still may want kids before im 40.........I was considering a 6 month very low dose test cycle something like 125mg test e per week. getting blood work begin, middle and end just to see if I respond well.

I don't know lol, just pissed off with my situation at the min. treading water for years now and im sick of it!.

yep I have read this also, seems like a good start to me. also what I gather is that clomid would only work for secondary hypogonadism, so by that thought path if it worked I would have secondary hypogonadism and if it did not then I would have primary hypogonadism......it seems that this would be good just to confirm either way? anyone have thoughts on this?

Yes, that would make sense, hcg wouldn't work either if you were primary but if those testes can perform with more signal they will.

I can add the zinc and copper if I need It after I do a bit reading on the benefits. im not any medication and will invest in some baggy boxers lol. a rarely drink alcohol or do other stuffs. heating of food I do quite often and again with work ill not get around that.....lose weight! lol that's what im struggling with the most, if I could do that then I probably wouldn't be looking into low test ha.

I wouldn't take anything EB at this stage I would concentrate on getting the help you can from your doctor. In the UK it is hard to get things rolling but if you persist and exaggerate the sides of lowT you will get treatment. Don't just allow them to disregard your symptoms keep on at them and they will send you to a specialist who will prescribe you the right treatment.

^^^^ good advice! and I fyou do 6 month cycle you'll end up in worse situation, 6 months is to the point of no return. I know i'll have some members disputing the "no return" comment, but doing an incomplete protocol will damage your testis, even if you do PCT with hCG you may get them back but 80% at best.

Just looked at your blood again. You really need to find out whats going on with your liver first. If you were drinking heavily before that test may be why your testosterone came back low is low.

    cheers for the reply mate.....

heres the deal, I am a very positive happy person, my symptoms are there and I obviously have low t but to be honest I can deal, I can get erections at will so the main symptom is not there. my symptoms of tiredness, forgetfulness, low feelings sometimes, I can handel, im only bothered about losing weight/fat as I have been treading water for years and recovering from intense exercise so I can train again lol..........I don't like lying to people and I preach about people pulling the piss with illness etc, I think it is ruining society in general, e.g people in car accident not really hurt claiming compensation.

anyway I can not go in to docs and act ill, make things seem worse when really its my selfish need to get a 6 pack that is really driving me to look into all this lol. plenty of people who are truly ill out there.

I will mention that I read the blood results and point out im 1 above low, see if he will help.

good points mate, if that is the case then I don't want TRT as I still don't know if I want kids.......

no mate haven't had a good drink since march....well that's one thing that is getting investigated, when I go back in 8 weeks for another test he is looking at the RBC and liver, if the values are the same he wants me to have a more sensitive blood test.

I am running into the same problem. My health insurance will not cover treatment as my hormone levels are not below a certain threshold. I have been on the edge of that threshold for 2 years now.
    I was thinking clomid myself.

its a pain mate, im going to speak to my doc before I decide to self medicate clomid, ive decided to use the next 8 weeks to try and raise my test levels naturally with diet and supplement i.e zinc, magnesium etc.

if my doc does not refer me to an endo or I don't raise my testosterone naturally I am going to inform him im starting to self medicate clomid and ask him if he will help me regulate with blood tests.

    how old are you mate?

    44 years old....

my insurance will not cover most quality of life issues which is where my test is right now. not low enough to be a medical threat, not high enough to enjoy the same quality of life that I had. If money was not an object, I would fly to houston and go to the Test center there. But as insurance will not pay any of it... its not an option

its a shame mate. if I had the money I would go private also, straight to an endo but just for a 15 min consultation they charge £150, money I cant spare at the min.......I cant comment on self medicating but if I was your age I would definitely be looking into it, your test levels will only get worse as you age. Maybe inform your doc of your plan to use clomid and ask them to keep an eye on you with regular bloods, though I don't know anything about your insurance in amercica i.e if it will affect it or not.
