Help my BF please - Q's about HGH and Test

Hey everyone, hopefully I'm posting in the right thread. My bf is 50+ years old and has an addiction to sugar. He has been entertaining the idea of HGH (he does workout but obviously the sugar doesn't help).

I'm preaching to him to drop the sugar first and live a healthy lifestyle for a year before taking any hormones at all. He keeps asking me what if he did it after he started taking the HGH and used the fact that he's on hormones as a reason\motivator to get off the sugar.

Any words of advice from any of you would be greatly appreciated. Any inspirational videos I can get him to watch on netflix?

What would happen if he never gave up the sugar and took HGH? Wouldn't his appetite just increase and he would feel the need to eat more?

I'm 33 years young, with a mdoerately athletic background. I used to body build and currently watch what I eat very closely. I dream of the day him and I can live a healthy and active lifestyle together but he needs to beat his addiction to sugar first! Thank you for your time!

    Welcome,

Is he on any type of testosterone therapy ?

Has he had any blood work done lately?

Most people end up wasting their time with HGH. What makes him feel that he needs HGH?

Do you know his height, weight and Body fat percentage?

No he is not on any type of testosterone .

yeah he has recently done bloodwork done but they didn't test his hormone levels or pituitary. 2 years ago was when he had his T levels tested and they were low but not low enough to indicate he should do HRT.

He wants HGH because he hears it rejuvinates your body and makes you feel younger. He wants to be more active.

    he is 5'9 205lbs 53 years old.

    HGH won't help him.

Sounds like he might be overweight, which would make an HGH cycle even worse.

My advice would be to invite him over to our nutrition section and allow our experienced nutritionists to critique his diet and help him. Although it sounds like you're in great shape so I don't know if he will listen to us if he won't listen to you. But worth a try.

He needs more blood work done.

thank you very much for the prompt replies!

I'll head over to the nutritionist forum and see if they can recommend some videos. I'll start him small and with King Corn so at least that will scare him away from soda.

on another note i'm similar to your body type. Except not nearly as tight, you look great!

I'm going to order some L-glutamine to help fight those sugar cravings.

Sounds like you want someone to be active with that.... My first reaction is to judge and though it would be rude to say anything, but that honestly is what comes to mind. I just know it can be hard to change people. As long as you are happy with them the way they are, and this would just be a bonus. But I agree with the advice given, there's no magic short cuts, nutrition and proper training is key here. I hope I don't offend you, but he's got to want it for himself to make it happen.

thank you! well the thing is he is in that space where many people have been. They talk a lot about how they want to change but they need to take the plunge. He's really at the tipping point and i'm hoping some knowledge will take him to where he needs to go. Some sort of motivation.

it's not about his weight but his health, especially if he's considering HGH. he'll hurt himself if he does hormones but eats refined sugars the way he is =(

Well if sugar cravings resolves the problem, Chromium is what you need to supplement with.
