Tip for decontaminating your testosterone vial.
I've discovered I get sore every injection toward the end of the some vials, more like the last third. usually the vial lasts 16-20 weeks if you're injecting 100-120 mgs ew, so i am assuming there is some type of contamination occurring from pumping air into the vial.
in the passed i simply tossed the leftovers because the soreness and swelling was very uncomfortable, but this time i tried something different, I heated the vial with boiling water to kill whatever bacteria the oil has contracted, and it worked! i tried it on a vial that gave me 4 sore injections, and after decontaminating the vial no more soreness or swelling.
so if any of you experience this simply boil water, remove off the stove and place the vial in the hot water for at least 15 minutes. this will heat the oil enough to kill any bacteria.

idk if id want to use something that had harmful bacteria in it even after boiling it...i'm sure it's fine, just my paranoia.
btw, i heard yo uaren't supposed to refrigerate test, where do you personally store it?

So your theory is that your syringe(s) have picked up some airborne microbe/pathogen, and it has harvested in an environment of cottonseed oil? Not that I'm a microbiologist, but one would presume that once injected in the body, there would be some sort of latency period, which then would yield infection and/or other issues. Anyways, who knows in the world of possibilities, but I can't say that I've ever encountered anything similar towards the completion of a vial.

I get mine in 1ml glass vial, so all used in one shot. So no problems. Also store at room temperature. I find if injected cold it hurts.

been doing this for a long time, by now I should know to store test in room temperature.
yes just I guess just a theory, not really sure, but once heated the test no more swelling and soreness. this used to happen allot when I was getting my test from the clinic/compounding pharmacy, less with brand name. I even tossed two full un-open vials because they only had 3 months shelf life, I was getting major infections from those. it could have been the oil, not really sure.
that would be ideal but it costs 2-3 times as much.

According to the pros in the lab section, your theory will not work as the water will not get hot enough to kill micro organisms. You would either have to boil in a pan of oil (not water) which is messy, or autoclave (can use a pressure cooker). Some good reading in that section. Maybe your test is crashing?
Are you using a compounding pharmacy? Grape seed oil perhaps? My Watson vials last me a good 6+ months at 80mg a week and have not encountered a single issue down to the last drop.Last edited by FRDave; 10-05-2013 at 02:05 AM.

^^^ who said boiling temperature won't kill bacteria? 170 degrees will kill almost anything, that's what they did in the olden days before they invented disposable syringes and needles, they boiled them and reused them. not saying that my theory is for certain, but its too much of a coincidence to think otherwise. as stated in my previous posts some of the compounding test didn't last at all, 4 months at best and I was getting bad infections. brand name last up to two thirds and the infections occur, not every vial some vials.

Boiling will kill all actual bacteria, but not the endospores that gram positive bacteria can produce in order to survive. Fortunately, most common pathogens can't produce endospores. And even then, you could always Tyndalize the vial to kill just about anything (3 repeat boils 1 day apart).

Bon, I know heating the oil doesn't harm the test, at least from my experience and others here. my question is would it if you do it 3 times? just curious because I never heated test more than once per vial.

Wouldn't swabbing the top with an alcohol swab accomplish the same thing (assuming it is more than just a dab but really a generous swab)? That's why I do before loading.

that's a given, you have to swab it with alcohol no matter what, but I am talking about the air you inject into the vial to create pressure. that air is the same air you breath, your dog breaths, and God knows whatever else the air is carrying goes into the vial, that's what I am thinking is contaminating the vial. I am not talking major contamination, I am sure if you drink the oil it won't do anything but when its injected in your veins that's where is becomes touchy.
BTW, don't use the oil for your salad dressing, I was just trying to make a pointLast edited by bass; 10-07-2013 at 04:01 PM.

Ah, gotcha bass. I've wondered about that, too, but I've haven't had any infection issues or soreness (knock on wood).
Are you by chance injecting before the alcohol dries on your skin? I know that can be a little bitch of a sting for a few minutes after injecting. That only happens to me occasionally SQ (with hCG ), but I know you do test SQ, too.

Let the alcohol air dry after you swab vial. I would not trust them cotton balls to be sterile.
