Needles

Afternoon all!

So I am trying to get a prescription for more needles, as the one my Uro have me is a 20 gauge 11/2inch variety. He also only prescribed enough to inject once a week and after research and this board, I have decided to split my dose into two shots at 50mg Test C every 3 1/2 days starting tomorrow.

Question is,is there anywhere that is reputable online that you can buy needles from that are sterile and safe?tried to do this through my Uro and I have to wait for him to call back and instill may not even get prescribed the needles I would like. I am thinking a 22 gauge 1 inch for IM injections in the thigh and butt.

Any feedback is appreciated.

YW...and in case no one else replies...You might want to do a little more research on pin lenght for butt. I think most use 1.5" there. I do.

I purchased my last round of needles & syringes from AR-R & they're are good to go. I use 25G 1" for my quads, delts & glutes. I am not really lean (20% BF aprox) & 1" works just fine for glutes, 1.5" is recommended for glutes so you may err on the safe side & order some 1.5".

Everett, do you bury the 1" all the way for quads or 3/4 of the way. I wasn't sure if it was necessary to bury it all the way or not.

I don't "bury" the needle all the way. I leave a mm or so of the needle protruding the skin so if I break the needle off during the injection I can remove it myself. The reason I do this is due to being trained to do so in EMT school. It's easy to break off a needle while IM injecting a combative PT.

If you have a steady hand while injecting you're good to go. Swab, stick, aspirate , push med, remove, swab & enjoy.

Google medical supplies and you will find a lot of online suppliers. You can get 100 x 25g 1.5" needles for $8-10 and 100 syringes for the same price.

Thanks Everett. I just did that same thing. I was thinking about it breaking off. Also, I don't have the beefiest legs. That was a snap. Quads are def easy and convenient.

Valid point. I've been doing injections for nearly 18 years so experience is a relevant factor. If a member here was leaving room from the base of the needle, 1 1/2 inch would perhaps be a better choice and go to a depth of 3/4 of that needle.

If someone has hands so shaky that there is a real risk of breaking a needle off in the skin, I'd rather they find some other method. I've trained my wife to do IM and subQ injections. She had no medical training and only one year injection experience (from me) but she has very steady hands and commits to each injection without hesitation. Actually, I think she enjoys impaling me. Lol

If I can go lower than 22g than hell yeah!!
Although, the 20g wasn't bad, just sucks a pin making ya bleed haha...So gonna go to a less intrusive gage lol
