Hey bestrong, sorry no one has responded yet. I know they will, there are very knowledgeable people on these boards. Im not on TRT, but I do see a hormone replacement specialist and have learned a lot over the past year about it from picking his brain, and from these boards. It looks like you have found a good doctor. Seems like youve already begun seeing some results, that is great.
Seems like the biggest thing with TRT is learning how to control estrogen without dropping it too low. So keep an eye on that as you move forward. If you have low body fat, it should be an easier transition, but anytime you had testosterone, you will be adding estrogen, just a matter of how much. Less body fat, less conversion to estrogen in most cases. So make sure to keep an eye on your e2 levels. Also Id say go by how you feel and not as much the numbers. Everyone is a little different.

OP our stories are very similar (except I have a psycho wife). I'm on my second week of trt, still feel the same, hoping as the weeks go on I'll feel some improvements. I'm on 50mg 2x per week and 250iu hCG 2x per week.
I think your experiencing placebo effect based on the time it takes for test c to bring levels up based on our protocols. Time will tell. Good luck and I'll keep an eye on your thread and progress.
My mood is so much improved that it cannot be placebo effect. Started my 2nd week....still looking for some comments on my bloods if anyone is willing to review them
Thats good bestrong! Congrats. If you dont mind, can you elaborate on how your mood is now compared to how it was before? Right now Im on clomid therapy but unfortunetely it doesnt help my depression.
I used to have daily anxiety and "weird" fears. Since starting TRT a couple of years ago, and after reaching a point of being "dialed in" and cruising, I have not felt anxiety once! It is completely gone, no exaggeration. Stick with it, work with your doctor but learn as much as you can and don't be afraid to go out and get your own bloodwork to help you dial yourself in.
Every morning for the past year or so I would wake up with a feeling of anxiety/nervousness/ jittery that kind of ran through my body. That feeling has already largely gone which is a much more normal way to start the day.
My mood is improved as well with a much more calm outlook instead of always feeling I need to keep moving since the "music" may stop at any time
It is definately a placebo effect but take advantage of it. Cypionate is a long ester and will take a while to kick in. U will know when it has! Believe.. Good luck mate all the best!

So I'm about a month into TRT. I think it may have been placebo effect to some degree as I'm not feeling as amazing as I was during the first 2 weeks but still improved from prior to trt. I am just about entirely off Lexapro at this point. I have gained some muscle size and weight (about 5 lbs) so far. Waist isn't trimming down just yet but may be way too early for body composition changes... Looking forward to my first set of blood work early Jan 14

A little over 7 weeks into HRT at this point.. Feeling good ...quality of sleep is definately improving - more energy , focus, interest in life improved. Still gaining weight / muscle size - shirts are fitting much tighter - may need to go shopping soon :)

Waist still not trimming down... trying not to cut calories but eating clean. Libido much higher than where it was prior... Follow up blood work scheduled for 12/23.

There are multiple attachments that you should be able to open by clicking on them. I would not consider what I did 25 years ago to be steroid abuse. It was 4-6 weeks relatively low dose at the most and not even sure of the quality of the gear. If I think back to my aging father and his health issues I believe it is genetic late onset hypogonadism.Quote:

TRT has been great for me, hope you get the same . I dont claim to be an expert on these topics at all ,but i do know alot of the basics such as your Free Testosterone level is a much more accurate measure of the test that is actually available to your body. Things like elevated SHBG being low are in your favor.. lower is better( if its high , it lowers the amount of available T for you). Keep an eye on your E2 . you want that low as well . One thing ive experienced is an elevated hematocrit level ( been on trt about 9 months and started hcg mabye 4 months ago). with the elevated hemat levels my md claims that is probably why i get headaches about the first couple days after my T injection....and also, elevated hemat can also cause shortness of breath... (just a couple things i hadnt considered, but has become noticable over time)...supposedly donating blood lowers the hemat and thus the headaches (should) go away as well as the SOB. (only done this once, it seemed to help but im not convinced after only one go round.
read the forums here, alot of very knowledgeable folks here...often more than the mds . Im lucky i go to **********s in denver. they are very helpful and on your side not fighting you like some MDs seem to be.
