New Endo Appointment this week... A little nervous...

Been on TRT now for over 2 years. Am prescribed Test Cyp self inject around 200 a week. Recently, my doc had to stop wellness i.e. trt because of ObamaCare reimbursements being lowered for wellness so my Family Doc referred me to an Endo that I see later this week. I am almost out of Cyp so am hoping he does not want me to restart in order t find a baseline before writing me another script. I am so dialed in that I am really worried about what this endo wants to do... My other doc was cool, gave me some refills but again, the time has come to where now I need my new doc/endo to keep it going for me.

Anyone here have to switch docs WHILE on trt?

    Any thoughts? ect?

I am 39, 6"8, 300 LBS, I gym almost daily & fight MMA. I don't blast often mainly just stick with the prescribed trt amount....

I had to change docs and I had all my lab work with me from day one. She continued with the protocol I was on. If you have or can get copies of your lab work take it with you.

Agree with Mr. Bill. Get a copy of your file and take it with you. If you're uncomfortable with something the new doc says tell him so and discuss it. Prepare for this appointment, ask questions, don't be afraid to ask "why" if he mentions something you're not familiar with. It's your health and your new doc should be your partner, not your boss.

You *should* have no problem switching doctors, considering you bring all relevant paperwork. Ask your current doctor for a copy of your file, along with a prognosis letter. If any problems arise, the endocrinologist will likely consult with your general practitioner to clarify.

In short, don't worry about it - I've switched doctors countless of times and never had much trouble.

I agree with above, unless your new doc is not up to date on TRT he should continue your protocol.

Well... I had my appointment & it turns out that my Endo is a Woman which is cool but kinda odd for me(shrug)... First off, In the past I had Test Cyp, Nolvadex & clomid. Nolvadex for maintence & clomid in case I had a flair up. No HCG . She does not believe in any Serms whatsoever, ect for trt... She did prescribe me 2, 10ML vials of Cyp & took some blood tests for:

    Test, Free & total
    prolactin
    psa
    luteinizing hormone
    lipid panel
    igf-i
    estadiol
    cortisol am
    metabolic panel
    cbc
    acth

Now that's a lot of blood work so I'm unsure of what it's all for... I am going back in a couple weeks to discuss my results... She seemed ignorant to why I take cialis on occasion saying I shouldn't need it at all. She said I should be considered normal around 500 total T which had me about fall out of my chair. I told her I felt much better about life around 800 or so to which she acted as though was way too high. I was honest with her on my questions. She asked about my diet I told her I kept a fairly clean diet, ect. She asked if I smoked and I don't. same with drinking. But she seemed sort of stand-offish to me. Maybe I took her wrong who knows. I will post up blood work results in 2 weeks when I go back for them. She was concerned with my BP at 130 over 88 & I told her I thought that was great for being 300 LBS plus I said "well, i am also a little nervous since you hold my trt future in your hands. She acted like an accountant & just said "your bp needs to be 120 over 80". I'm thinking wtf lady?!?!

So the good: she wrote me 2, 10ML vials worth of script.(enough for months)

The Bad: I feel like she's gonna make some changes when she get's my blood work back

Thanks for any & all thoughts by the members here...

Well, she's correct with serms. Really no seed if on testosterone already.
Try to work with her and be partners in your health. But she's not your boss. Stand up for yourself.
If you're uncomfortable with something let her know.
Don't worry about your Total T level, worry about your Free T level.
Wrong estrogen test. Needs to be a sensitive assay.
Any mention of HCG or AI need?

It seems you've already formed legitimate concern(s) on your own. First impressions are generally correct. IMO, use her (& the refills) for the moment & find a qualified 'male' Doc for your long-term treatment...
