Thread: Blood Pressure creeping up.

    Blood Pressure creeping up.

So over the last month my blood pressure has randomly gone up from 120/70 to around 145-160/80.
Not quite sure why but this is causing me vision issues and lightheartedness. Also get a little dizzy when I stand up.
Just ruled out diabetes a month ago so I'm not quite sure what's going on. No matter how much water I drink my piss is yellow and I feel dehydrated quite a bit.
My estrogen was 19 on the sensitive panel so I doubt it's that.

    What could be causing this?

How does your e2 levels look with no AI? In range I assume?

And what are you using to take your blood pressure? Do you take same time every day such as morning before getting out of bed / night while laying in bed?

I doubt a small increase in BP such as what your describing is effecting your eye sight. I would look at other posible causes. Are you on cialis?

I had the same issue. Tried lowering test, giving blood, losing weight, diet, even BP pills. Until I got my sleep apnea under control my BP was never under control. Do you snore? Just food for thought.

160 is stage 2 hypertension, not really a small increase IMO but I'm not well versed when it comes to bp.

I ruled out sleep apnea in November, although I do have Restless Leg Syndrome.

Not to hijack, jo, but I feel where you're coming from. Mine crept up like that over a couple months and is now 168/103. My hemo/hemat are both high and my pcp wouldn't do anything about it, but my endo said we could maybe look into a prescrip for blood letting.

good idea on checking blood sugar, ridgback. My bloodsugar has steadily been around 103 the last two times mine was done.

145-160/80 could be due to small cuff, get one of those Omron wrist BP monitors, they are very accurate and one size fits all. I tested it against the one my doc uses and its right on. if your monitor is correct then I suggest taking Arginene. how long you been on TRT? if you started recently its your body getting adjusted. mine went high on TRT then stabilized, now that I am on T3 cycle I take Arginene to keep it down, and its below normal.

I personally won't invest in the wrist monitors. Generally speaking, the closer the read is performed to the heart (axillary/arm bands) the more accurate the read. I've seen far less variability in those sphygmomanometers than the wrist devices.

    Just my opinion.

I;ve been using the one at rite aid which is for 13in and under arms, mine are around 17 so that could be it.

That's What I was thinking but.

    Glucose, Serum 80 65-99 mg/dL

    Hemoglobin A1c 5.0 4.8-5.6 % SO

    Increased risk for diabetes: 5.7 - 6.4
    Diabetes: >6.4
Glycemic control for adults with diabetes: <7.0

Mine was high before starting TRT , which was followed up with blood tests hence the discovery of low T 4.9 nmol/L range 11.0-40.0 all other results where fine, I then requested a sleep study to see if that was the cause, outcome mild sleep Apnea !

till this point it has almost remained untreatable with medication and a plethora of Supps, So invested in Cpap 1.5 weeks in, TRT Reandron 1000 6.5 weeks in. Now Bp is going nuts!!

Im Hoping Bass is right, and after the new changes for the better its just my body trying to even things out now that hormones are being treated and i can breath and sleep at night.

Yup, for 17" you have to use large cuff.

    NO, it's a tumor. J/K
Mine has been up to 190/ 108 several times and way at 150/90 consistently but I know what it was from. I married a Filipino. No lie. lol It's funny, the last several months things have been much better (knock on wood) and without meds it is now consistently 120-130/80.

I'm not an easy person to get stressed but I guess getting older and pushing the right buttons even I can be effected.

Check your life, surroundings and see if that is effecting any of it. I also agree with the to small cuff theory. Mine are also around 17, 18 at their best and those store BP checkers just dont work for me. They have to use the bigger sleeve for me also. It's nice when the nurse looks at you and says OH, I need to go find the bigger cuff.

Agreed. I usually disregard any reading from a wrist cuff, because they tend to read way high (an all bets are off when someone is in shock and shunting).

Each to his own. but the last two I owned were spot on compared to the one used at the doc's office. not saying its the best but good enough and convenient.
