Injection Locations change absorption?
Hey guys,
12 months on injections i have always had them done in the Gluts, be it the clinic giving me the shot or doing it myself using a 3ml 23G 1.5 inch syringe, i know i am always hitting the muscle as i tend to be sore for a couple of days.. nothing crazy just know i had the injection i think more when i do it as there is more movement during the injection compared to when the doc does it.
However my question is the doc says i have a issue with absorption and my injections and levels will and are getting better as i lose weight, it was recommended to give myself the shots in my delts.. it was suggested by a fellow at the gym that he gets better results pinning there.. Now i would have to pick up 25G pins i know and honesty don't feel comfortable as i have read that its more risky shooting there..
Can anyone chime in on weather i could get better use of my injections there, meaning is there a reason for it? And two is it that much more risky to shoot there compared to the rear end?
Thanks in advance.

No added risk injecting the delts as long as you are alcohol swabbing the injection site & aspirating prior to injecting. An IM injection is an IM injection no matter the mass of muscle tissue you use.

Thanks Everett,
Any one have suggestions how I can assist to increase the absorption.. Currently my endo says its a mix of my morbid obesity, the large amount of insulin needs i have ( Type2 ) and a mixture of the other medications i am on ( hypertension, gout, cholesterol, Adhd, depression, acid reflux etc ).

Delt injections arent too difficult, I do them myself standing up. What I do is lean injection arm against a wall, and then reach around with my opposite arm with the plunger between my index finger and middle finger. Pop it in, aspirate and inject.
As far as absorption, I mean as long as it's IM it is good to go in my opinion, things like SHBG and E2 levels are going to effect your testosterone levels , and there are natural treatments and medicines that can help these, I would not try Sub Q at this point being that you have a considerable amount of body fat, what length needles do you use for the delt, glute, and thigh? Those are the 3 site I use, 6 site IM rotation, works well for me, delt 25g 7/8", thigh 25g 7/8", glute 25g 1", but I am probably like 12-14% BF
Alot of people are unaware of the 7/8" needles IMO best for thighs and delts for people with low/moderate BFLast edited by booku; 04-22-2014 at 01:21 AM.

Delts are awesome, one inch pin is fine, I use a 5/8 sometimes, never a problem with absorption according to BW. Also u said "obviously" u need a 25, not true used a 23 many times. Will admit the smaller the less intimidating.
