    TRT Background

Just a quick background. After YEARS of suffering through hypogonadism (but instead being diagnosed and treated for depression/anxiety) I was referred to an Anti-Aging clinic. It was pricey, but I was finally getting help. I stayed with them up until a year ago. I had a great relationship with one of the assistants. I initially ordered the common trio (Test Cyp, HCG , Arimidex ) and was on my way. They had me at ridiculous doses (300mg Test a week) and my levels (and hematocrit) were everywhere. After reading here and throughout the internet, I started to manipulate my protocol to better my health. Gradually, I got to the point where I was able to order just Testosterone from the clinic (I was able to get cheaper HCG and Arimidex elsewhere, obviously). My contact must have stopped caring or was too busy to check up on my medications. This was GREAT. I kept cost down (HCG and Arimidex from this place was ridiculous) and was still able to stay legal with a testosterone prescription (controlled drug) and pharmacy grade to boot.

Well, this clinic changed ownership (or something) and my contact was promoted and as a customer (err, I mean patient) I was passed along to someone else. Long story short, this guy wasn't letting me leave without reordering the famous trio everytime. I was upset, but what can you do? So from that point on, I started essentially self-prescribing my TRT (technically I had been from the get go). So I get my medications myself and order my own bloodwork (which saves me even more money). I continued my original protocol, which is working great. And if something ever comes up on my bloodwork (knock on wood), I'll run to my GP (which I haven't seen in years).

So here I am now. I don't really mind doing what I am doing. It would be ideal to have a medical professional look over my quarterly bloodwork (I guess. I don't know, the clinic I was at before would just send me an e-mail saying, "everything looks good" along with a copy for my records). My main concern right now is that I'm using UGL testosterone. I don't agree with the laws, but it is what it is, and I don't really like having to break them to treat my condition. HCG and AIs are one thing, but controlled substances are another.

So, I'm looking for advice. I don't know my GP well enough to see if he will prescribe testosterone (I've seen him once). My GP before him was a big pill pusher and scoffed at the idea of testosterone injections (he prescribed Androgel and Testim). I've searched compounding pharmacies for prescribing doctors in my area and the one nearest to me is an hour away. I don't want to go through a clinic again, because even though you get help, they put money over your health. The last one was prescribing me the highest dosages they could, while keeping me at somewhat healthy present levels.

    Any ideas?

How much were you paying? I'm with lowt, sponsor here and pay 199 month and 15 copay. I get bw every 6 months, but my regular md takes bw every 3 months which insurance pays for. The plus it's all legal and my dr knows what he is talking about even though I only have to see him once a year.

here in the US most non knowledgeable doctors look at Lab Corp's standard which is

    348-1197 ng/dl Free testosterone and
    8.7-25.1 pg/ml Total as a "range"
now any half sane person can look at the variables age weight activity etc. and "aim" for optimal levels. if a doc looks at your labs at say a 349 and says your
"within range" run like hell. don't know what weight age etc. are but find a doctor you can talk to openly that understands optimal levels and listens to input nothing wrong with talking about your concerns with a doctor. mine was great just costs a lot. the conversation with my doctor was a lot about lack of motivation, lower sex drive, losing muscle mass and gaining fat, and a bunch of commonly associated problems. and the blood work came back at 440 ng/dl and if they don't REQUIRE blood work before treating you run.

also "dont" have sex or masturbate multiple times day before blood work and get a good nights rest.

If you have lots of sex and barely any sleep it will greatly skew your test results to the negative showing you have really low test levels.
