bloated and short of breath sometimes
ive been on TRT for 1 year and 4 months. first off im 50 , non smoker , medium drinker [beer], 6'/230 lbs. body fat at about22% + or -,and work an active job [auto mechanic -flat rate].recently noticed my face alittle puffy, and things that didnt use to make me tired ,do now.My wife noticed it first and brought to my attention and i started realizing she was right. I havent had blood work since i was dialed in. if your e2 climbs ,do you typically experience bloat, tiredness, intermittent shortness of breath. my protocal is hcg 3 x's a week and .5 ml twice a week. no ai.i'm going to start scaling back my injection to .3ml twice a week and take alittle ai 24 hrs after injection. i also want to lower my hemoglobin. This should help with hemoglobin and hopefully with the fatigue. I know i should probably get more bloodwork but my doctor hasnt ordered any for quite awhile. what do the experts think ? thanks. wife thinks i should stop taking everything and live my life like everyone else my age.blah !

Are you being prescribed by a physician?
At that body fat and symptoms, I'm sure your estrogen is high. What is your blood pressure?
High body fat is going to bring on a world of problems, even more so when including hormones.

Before changing or adding anything you need to get BW or you will be chasing your tail around.

Getting rid of a pint or two of blood should be your first priority (as that is likely the cause of your shortness of breath and fatigue).
Then get some bloodwork and post your results here.

I don't know my exact b/f. 37 inch waist, 18 inch neck and biceps, 48 suit jacket. I'm told I look young for my age. Did not take my injection last night, I'm calling my doc today and requesting b/w. I'll post results when done.

Suggestion: Any man your age and a little heavy set should report these symptoms (esp. shortness of breath) to his doctor. A cardiac condition (among other things) can cause this, but it is important to rule out a medical problem.
High E makes me ache and get stiff (esp in my legs) and my ankles balloon so that it is embarrassing at the gym in my shorts. Perhaps it is high E causing your symptoms, so get some blood work done. But also consider a medical cause and rule that out.

I hear you! I like the feeling, the gain in the gym, the disappearance of the abdominal fat pad (albeit it was a small fat pad, but I could not get rid of it till I started T), the libido. I'm the oldest (59 years) on a 40 year old team and I love it. For as much as I detest the injections I am still happy to be on T (and HCG, a very low dose AI, DHEA and liquid Cia). And that's coming from someone who avoids taking any medications at all, even Tylenol!

Thanks Chester , I just had a complete physical in mid February. EKG included and full b /w. All was good. I have been changing from subq to I/ m for a change. Might of spiked my e2 since I haven't been taking an ai. My e2 was always alittle on the high end of the scale. Doc didn't seem to worry about it. I do have a b/w script coming in the mail though so we'll see what's up.

feeling better . definitely need to start doing cardio. put after missing one of my twice weekly injections and lowering my dose from .5 ml per injection to .25 ml twice a week , i lost 9 lbs. in 8 days. now i'm 224 lbs. instead of 233. look less bloated and generally feel better. I got my b/w back today from labcorp. testosterone ,serum --760 [range 348-1197] and estradiol sensitive, --11 [range 3-70]. those were the only tests that my doctor wanted ,but shows that my body likes less test to feel better. with the previous dosage i was around 1000 test serum and 44 ,e2. next check will be when i donate blood in 2 weeks and find out if my hemoglobin also went down. hoping that will follow suit with the lower dosage i'm taking now. thank you everyone for the wealth of knowledge to help me get back to feeling good.

Bro, this is what scares me about TrT patients. How can a person be on TrT....know they have a hormone problem that Fs their life up when wrong....and not do blood work every 6 months max? I cannot do blood work soon enough since I went on TrT. If I was experiencing a raise in E2 I would want to know about it before the sides hit.
As far as poofiness that can be from alcohol intake among 500 other things. Changing your dose based on a non-specific symptom without blood work is doing it wrong.

well , i gave blood today and with the change in lowering my dose ,i was told my hemoglobin was down to a respectable 15.6 at the blood bank. pulse 68, blood pressure 130/78. much better than previous visits. now after my donation the hemoglobin is probably even lower. my weight is down also to 222 lbs. 11 lbs. from 3 weeks ago. thanks again guys for the great input
