List of Initial Tests to get done - Advice?

Hey guys. I'm new to understanding most of this, but have been doing research and am beginning to grasp it.

What I'm referring to is looking beyond simple "Total Testosterone levels" that many doctors subscribe to these days.

As for me, I've been taking a shot every two weeks for about a year now, but am looking to get tests to see levels in important other factors...

Through my research, here is the list of things I'm hoping to get tested:


• Complete blood count and chemistry profile (to include liver-kidney function, glucose, minerals, lipids, thyroid (TSH) etc.)

• Free and Total Testosterone

• Estradiol (estrogen)

• Progesterone

• Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)

• Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)

• Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)

• Luteinizing hormone (LH)

• Human Growth Hormone (HGH)

• Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1)

• Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)

• Cortisol

• Homocysteine

• Vitamin D


Is there anything else I should test for to see what my levels and ratios are? Do any of these overlap? Thank you!

Compare it to the list in the Finding A Doc Sticky at the top of this forum.
Also make sure your E2 test is a sensitive assay. Standard estradiol is for women.
LH is not needed.
A shot every two weeks is not a proper protocol.
