Confession - Cry Easly Watching Movies
One of the symptoms I never wanted to share in this forum was the fact that I would cry watching a drama movie next to my wife. Some online comments suggest that this can be attributed to either high estrogen, low T or depression. I started TRT treatment almost four weeks ago. I hope this girly crap goes away, I was never like that.
Free T was below normal
Total T was mid range.
Estrogen was never measured.

Hormone imbalances can make you an emotional little girl but that DOES NOT mean high estrogen. That's one of those old message board rumors that just won't die. For example, towards the end of a contest prep most bodybuilders will bottom out their estrogen, I did so myself for years and when I did I'd sometimes find myself crying at the most retarded things on earth for absolutely no reason. My estrogen was nothing, 1mg of letro per day will do that, test was high but tears still flowed.

Crying can be therapeutic.
I cried a few times over some shit that I saw happen over there. it took almost two months and I think I'm over it.
I can only imagine the blokes that don't get time to heal, and get incident stacked upon incident, over months and years. damn!

If I am noticeably more emotional than normal it's a sign that my E is high or T is low or both. Lab work has proven it.
Low E also affects my emotions.

It's very clear that we are both mind and body and we're always trying to reconcile or put these opposites together in ourselves. We're all exceedingly aware that hormones affect our emotions but I believe we sometimes lose sight of the fact that when we do have an emotion, it could be very genuine and something that is "right" for that particular circumstance. Hell, I was a water faucet when I first saw ET in the theatre. And I heard other people around me sniffling too. I felt good about having that emotion; I felt it was right. Didn't blame my E2 level (I was around 33 at the time anyway and didn't know about TRT.) I think we've got to get away from this stereotype that it's "girly" to cry. Physics; for every action there is a equal and opposite reaction. It's a fascinating study to look at each one and think about if it's an appropriate response we're having - and most importantly - if we respect ourselves for having that emotion.
