    Testopel

About to try the pellets for first time. Doc wants me to try them over the cyp. Ive pretty much taken all forms of TRT over the past 10 years. I have liked cyp but i assume doc wants to make some cash on the procedure so hes pushing for the pellets.

Just trying to get some advice from users of pellets. Im more concerned with maintaining levels. i think he wants to do 14 pellets.
    Thanks

Testopel was the second thing I was treated with (after the patch) and decided it wasn't for me. Pellets must be injected deep enough or they WILL come out. Four of them came out of me. Although small, this left me with a discolored, permanent scar. You must ice the site immediately after the procedure or you will get a very great deal of bruising. My doctor did not provide me with ice or advise me of this. The gradual release of T from the pellets slowly decreases over time so that a good month before your next procedure, you have very low levels of T. Ask the doctor to give you a script for Androgel to supplement your levels before the next Testopel procedure.

The only advantage I can see for a patient is that he doesn't have to fuss with injections or gels every day. In fact, a patient doesn't have to do much thinking at all - just go back every two months for the pellets. Another advantage I experienced is that my libido went through the roof! From one point of view, this is not a bad thing. But I was fantasizing and thinking about sex entirely too much and felt like wanking off all the time. NOT a comfortable feeling. In fact, I was relieved when those four pellets were extruded.

I definitely would NOT recommend Testopel to anyone for all of the above reasons. IMO, you'd do much better going with Androgel, if you can afford it. I would definitely do that over injections but my co-pay is crazy so I go with injections. $43 for a 10mL vial from CVS with a coupon from GoodRx.com - not going through insurance. It lasts me over three months. Not bad.

i did pellets once. they did 14 of them. felt really good right away. then they did what they called "a boost" and added 10 more pellets like 6 weeks later. a few weeks after that i was all messed up. started choking in my sleep, then would have severe insomnia for several days in a row, no energy, really bad anxiety, etc. it was horrible. was in and out of the doctor and specialists for a couple of months taking sleep studies and all sorts of tests. I kept telling everyone that i thought it was the pellets and no one would have any of it. once they wore off/dissolved, i was back to normal. never went back to that doctor or back to that method of delivery

Testopel worked fine for me. My doctor was using 12 of the pellets. Never had any migrate out, and the doctor was fine with me weightlifting the day after injection. Procedure was easy...as long as you don't watch him doing it. My levels were good for about three months going into the fourth, then I felt I needed more pellets. I think the doctor felt I metabolzied them too quickly and fell he preferred me going about 5 months between procedures. He finally changed me to Androgel .

I've done all of the common methods of supplementation. All have worked to one degree or another. They also have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the person.
