Nebido 4th shoot and still low T.

Well need some expert advise since I am starting really to get frustrated.

I am 37 around 234 LBS with around 20% BF (down from 30-32% the last 4 months) back in the gym since june was training on and off until I was 31 and had a long 6 year break due no good reason at all. Quit smoking and drinking for the last 3 years.

I have been diagnosed by my endo as a primary and got nebido (4ml 1000mg) shoots prescribed, did a front load shoot at 6 weeks and my endo told me to stay on a 6 week interval for the next 2 shoots since I still had many of the low T symptoms.
Have not been doing any HCG or AI.

A day before the 4th shoot the endo send me to do blood tests which surprisingly came back low:

    Total Testosterone 9.2 nmol/l - Range 8.4 - 28.7
    Prolactin 87 mIU/l - Range 45 - 375
    SHBG 33.2 nmol/l - Range 10 - 57
    TSH 1.53 mIU/l - Range 0.5 - 4.8
    LH - Lower than 0.8 IU/L
    FSH - Lower than 0.5 IU/L
    Estradiol - 80 pmol/l - Range 11 - 257

Before I started TRT my total T was 8.2 nmol/l

The endo was also pretty much surprised and requested me to repeat a blood draw a week after the 4th shoot which my total T came back also pretty low at 10.7 nmol/l

All the shoots have been administrated alternating left/right glutes by a trained nurse, not that I am afraid doing my own shoots just very convenient knowing a pro is doing it for you

Now since I did start TRT I do feel better and some symptoms do go away , like severe lower back pain but that is only for the first 4 weeks after the administration the last 2 weeks are pretty much hell and all the low T symptoms are back.

We do have Test E available locally (schering testoviron depot) , but only in amps of 1ML and the normal protocol would be administrating every 2-4 weeks here which I doubt would yield any good results hence me choosing the nebido.

I did have brief discussion with my endo switching to 100ML to 250ML a week of test E ... he is open minded to the suggestion/trial but really trying to understand why the nebido shoots are not working for me as intended.

Any input from you gurus is greatly appreciated in advance!!!!

    Bump.

Really guys I would like to get some insight here of what may cause my T levels to stay low. I mean a 4ml dose every 6 weeks should have somehow put me in the middle range I would assume.

Only one think is ticking in my head that something might be really wrong with the lab tests and that they somehow are being performed wrong or have a high error margin ...

It sounds impossible to be honest especially with all that test inside you. I'm on nebdio and came off test e and I'd never go back. Have you had your free test checked?

    Hi marcus ,

Yes I did 1 day before the 4th injection and a week after I had it :

They call it "testosterone free calculated" which I would assume that its a calculation taken from the SBHG and TOTAL T values , they don't show a range for it either.

    Before 4th on 1/7:
    Testost. Free Calculated - 0.179 nmol/L

    on 1/13

    Testost. Free Calculated - 0.224 nmol/L

Based on research online, a lot of folks are having issues with Nebido and the low serum levels it is producing. People serum levels either go down or stay the same using Nebido. I had blood work done two weeks after my first shot and my levels were unchanged. I took the 2nd shot three weeks after the first shot and while I have not done lab work since the 2nd shot, I can tell you that it has not made a difference in how I feel. I will have my 3rd shot this week (three shots in five weeks) and see what happens. It sounds crazy but Nebido isn't working for me and based on research online, it has failed many others.

Patience. You are not going to feel anything that soon with Test C or E, let alone nebido. How can you say its not working for you? Give it 6 more months and then make an assessment once things have stabilized a little.

There's proper studies been done on nebido what were conducted over 8 years and in all cases came out better than test e as far as test therapy. There are a lot of detailed papers done so I'd research those they are in my link below.

I've no idea what protocol your doing but you've had 3 shots in 5 wks sounds utter madness. What's your E levels doing this?

Nebido takes 6 to 9 month at least to get stable for some.

Not sure about my E2 yet. I will have blood work done next week. I just got a box of Arimidex and I will take a couple of pills just in case. KelKel recommends .25 twice per week as needed. Since I have abused Nebido in the last 5 weeks (three shots) maybe I should have half a milligram twice per week. I am not having any side effects yet (no acne, breast tenderness etc.). I feel as if I never took three shots of Nebido. Libido has improved but I am not sure if it is attributed to Nebido. 9 months seems like a long time for a medication to start working.

Do not touch adex till after your labs come back.

Realize that it takes 6-12 months for your hormones to stabilize and your body to reach homeostasis. The effects of HRT are very subtle in most cases and you don't realize that you are improving till you look back at 6 months ago and see the contrast in your quality of life.

I will be very surprised if Nebido (Aveed) does well in the U.S. simply because most patients do not display a lot of patients. Too many become frustrated with Cypionate and Enanthate , how much more so will they with Nebido? I don't care what state you're in or who you're working with, there is always a segment of patients that will be livid after 3-4wks of treatment when they do not feel like superman. Others expect the fat to start falling off, or simply to feel beyond human unlike they ever have before. And there is no amount of data or information you can provide that's going to change this mindset. Fortunately, many guys are willing to stick it out but there is always an element of frustration. In part I understand, when you feel like crap you don't want to feel like crap.

One thing that hurts is we're used to medications having an instant affect, think about pain meds and many antibiotics. But hormones simply aren't the same kind of thing - honestly, I've never liked that they're even classified the same as drugs. Secondly and perhaps just as important, we all know testosterone is a steroid and because of the gross misconception of steroids this can make patience and TRT two things that do NOT go hand-in-hand for a lot of men.

My labs finally came in and my testosterone is thru the roof. I had three Nebido shots in 5 weeks (kinda of a cycle). Feeling a bit better but it's only been 6 weeks.

    Total T: 1100
    Free T: 26 (8-27)
    Estradiol 9.7 (7-42)
Hematocrit 51% (high, donated blood yesterday).

In short, waiting to feel full effect which according to most of you will take several months.

I have not been to the gym in the past two weeks because got my appedix out. Going tonight to see effect of high T.

Good to hear. Keep an eye on the hematocrit due to your compacted dosing schedule. It may elevate again quicker than usual. I donate 3-5 times a year. I've been on nebido for 2 1/2- 3 years and have had a good experience. I make it to about 11 weeks between shots and feel about the same throughout.

Thanks, Spartan. Yes, Hematocrit is my primary concern, especially because I am also in an elevated city. What are your levels on the 11 week protocol?
