DHT Replacement
Just curious what the community here thinks about the concept of DHT replacement? I realize there are risks of hair loss, and probably higher risk of prostate issues.
But does anybody test for it to see if it's low? Does anybody attempt to replace it?
Having taking Propecia for three years, I can confidently state that there is no hormone more potent to vitality than DHT. Testosterone pales in comparison to the effects of increased DHT levels. I learned this after dropping Propecia, having inhibited it's for several years. There is just nothing as intense as DHT virility-wise.

If your T is low your DHT will also be low, generally speaking. Raise your T and you'll raise DHT. Transdermals are more efficient at raising DHT.

I'm back to resurrect this thread to find out the original answer to this question. And it's a good one! Some of you may know that I had surgery awhile back - radical cystectomy. Removed my bladder and prostate. I'm doing very well but now that some parts are missing, I'm noticing so is a great deal of my libido.
Since the prostate does a great deal of the work converting T to DHT, I figure not having one anymore is a good part of the cause.
I recall reading on a post here that there is a substance I can take to substitute for DHT. Can anyone help me out here?
And Happy New Year to all!

Proviron its the DHT analog.
But you should test your DHT levels by blood work.
About the original post, we are all different hormone wise, taking similar propecia dosage (quarter of proscar pill daily) I can barely feel the effects. Maybe a little slower body hair growth.
This dosage knocks my DHT to around a third of my original value.
Havent tested it on cycle.

You can try it but it imo won't work like "natural" DHT, because this wonderful hormone works by being much more androgenic than T and by converting into 3a-diol, a potent pro-cognitive GABA agonist. Synthetic DHTs are much lesser androgenic than T, conversion to methylated -diols also is possible but nothing is known about their function.
