Is it possible to stop TRT and get your testicles up and running again?
Hello. I'm 22 and I have been on TRT for about 7 months due to pituitary tumor.
Last week I went to have my anual MRI to check on the tumor, and I just got the results:
The tumor actually decreased in size! It went from 5.1 x 3.8 mm to 3.8 x 2.5 mm.
This gave me hope that it may disappear on its own eventually.
So here I ask, is it possible to stop TRT and get my testicles up and running again? Even after 7 months of shrunk testicles?
Thanks.

yeah it's possible, but how good your results will be are invidually dependant.
I was on TRT for a year and got off in March, and my numbers are crap now.
At the same time, I've heard of people on for years straight getting off and recovering just fine.
It usually just depends on the reason of why your numbers are low in the first place.
Anyways I'd look up the POWER PCT protocol by Dr.Scally or Cahout's restart on google.
both consist of high doses of HCG followed by Clomid for 4 weeks and Nolvadex for 6 weeks.
Good Luck

I suppose it depends on the initial cause of needing TRT to begin with. If you suffer from primary gonadal failure, chances are slim, but if you are on TRT do to steroid abuse , at your age, there's a good chance you can restart using things like DHEA and HCG etc. You'd need to search the site for the proper protocol.

don't most credible clinics give you an additional pharma to keep your gonads producing test while on TRT

My problem is on my pituitary gland not producing enough LH and FSH due to a pituitary tumor.. But now it seems the tumor is shrinking on its own. My doctor told me they disappear sometimes. So I wonder if the tumor disappear, my testicles will be able to produce the testosterone I need.
They were fine when I was on HCG . I responded very well to it actually. I had to stop using HCG cause I moved back to Brazil in january, and here HCG is not sold (and docs here don't believe on it).
I guess I will wait and see what happens with the tumor first...
Thanks guys

Interesting story gaiao. Hopefully the portion of the adenoma that is shrinking has a positive effect for you. I also don't have much doubt that your testicals could resume normal function.
I'm curious what the size of your pituitary is as related to the adenoma, then and now? It's interesting to note that the average size of a young adults pituitary is app 8mm and that they can shrink as you age.
What is your doctors plan?
