Is 200 mg cyp / wk possibly too much?

I was prescribed 100 mg/wk of cyp approx 1 year ago after my levels tested 325. I deployed overseas around 3 months into my TRT (10 months ago) and have not been back to my Dr yet . He is kind enough to keep renewing my rx over the phone until I get back in December.
Shortly into my deployment I decided to take advantage of an additional source of Cyp. and up my dose to 100 mg every 3.5 days (200/week). I feel great, my strength gains are pretty constant and I have no side effects other than acne on shoulders & back and slight gyno. I am 40 yrs old, 6'2", 220 lbs with an estimated 10-12% body fat. I sleep like a rock, eat like a horse (clean) and my sense of well being is phenomenal. After 13 months on TRT I am certain I have been on the low side my whole life.
I mostly contribute the acne to the fact that I am outside all day and sweat profusely. Not too concerned with that side effect. The gyno is what has me worried. Could 100 mg every 3.5 days possibly be too much??? The gyno does subside when I go back to my prescribed dose but I would like to hear of other options if there are any reasonable ones.

When you say gyno do you have lumps under your nipples or just some itching and tingling? Are you taking any sort of AI? Without bloodwork its impossible to know whats going on for sure so get that done ASAP. Also, why would you change your dose if your feeling good?

100mg 2x/week is pretty high from what I know. I wouldnt be surprised if your test is slightly outside the natural range, therefor higher Estrogen. My $.02 for what its worth

Most never need more then 150 a week. 200 is what a lot of self prescribed guys run, mostly because the ug gear they get is under dosed

Honestly, IMO, sticking with the prescribed dosage is the most reasonable one.Especially without labs to know how to properly manage E2. Definitely wouldn't want to somehow get caught up in labs down the road and your lab values don't correlate with your prescribed dose. That could cause some problems.

As others stated, 200 may well be too much, but its impossible to know without tests. Without a way of texting, id err on the side if caution and drop back to 100mg/week until you can get follow up work done. I know you're worried about losing the effects from 200 to 100,but from personal experience I'd say don't worry about it. Chances are you'll feel no different. You may even feel a bit better, because it sounds like your E2 is running high.

I've been at 200 mgs/week for over 4 years with no issues. However, I do have bloods drawn on a regular basis & am on other supporting meds. Wouldnt recommend OP to stray from the protocol your Doc has given. Especially in the light of the fact that you're in the middle of nowhere without oversight and it sounds like your E2 levels are now becoming an issue. If this is the case, your lipids & other profiles could also become skewed without having regular blood work to reference. Go back to your prescribed dose and play it safe until you can manage your TRT properly...

200 was too much for me. Taking advice from this forum I dropped my dose and gave blood. I feel much better. Less sides.

I would not do it without even being dialed in. That takes BW and time. I'm sure you feel good but at that dose there are other sides to contemplate other than gyno.

I dont know why you would split 200 up into 2 doses, cyp is a long ester,12-14 day half life, once a week
would probably suffice...my doc precribed 100 every 2 weeks, but i have my own supply and subsidize,
on the off week to try and keep a fairly even level in the blood....

The reason it is recommended to split weekly doses in two is it keeps you levels more stable, plus your estrogen spike won't be as bad.

Most believe that test C half life is 7-8 days.

Its a little different for everyone. I split my dose for a while then decided I didn't notice any difference so went back to once a week. Many here do feel better and prefer twice a week. Also be careful with adding to your trt. 100 every two weeks is a lousy script, but if you subsidize without telling your doc and he runs bloods based on the assumption you are following his protocol you may get stuck with that protocol in the long run. I'd strongly advise a conversation with your doc to see about changing that to 100/week, which is a reasonable and conservative starting dose. If he doesn't like that idea I'd be nervous about sticking with that doc.

test cis the longest esther out there....just read up on steroids .com about all tests.....
my doc injects every 2 weeks....14 days.....a half life of 14 days equates to a total depletion of 28 days,
i would be shocked if most people on here thought test c was 7-8 day halflife.....too many
    knowledgable people....

thanksfor the input....i have been having my doubts...but he has been my doc for many years...
i do not think he is very tuned in as he doesnt even think blood work is nesseccary, to determine
dosages...100 and that will do for life....this is the most i have dealt with him, and my research
and his knowledge....i am not too sure he knows very much....but if i have to go for blood work,i just wont inject..
not the best phylosophy i am sure, but will take it as it goes....again...thanks for your opinion...duley noted

Testosterone undecanoate has a much longer half life....~26 days I believe? These are older links, but look at the comparison of cypionate and undecanoate in the conclusion section of the first link.

No, going by the true definition of a 14 day half life, at 28 days half of what was left @ 14 days would remain....25%

I think terminal half life is a better guideline to use for comparison....just IMO.

I hate to hijack another members thread, but you really need to switch to a doctor experienced with managing trt. Aside from the dose being wrong, running trt without bloodwork is just not safe. Most primary doctors don't know trt, there's nothing wrong with requesting a specialist. Good luck.
