E2 levels on Gels, compared with Nebido.

    Hi guys

After two weeks of being on the Gels my Test went from 8.0mnol to 4.6mnol (SHGB 20nmol - Free 160pmol (134-844)). I had to take a day off work and go back to the doctor after two weeks, I felt awful. Didn't have the strength to move. So clearly something was going wrong. I got my Estrogen levels checked, and they came back at 70pmol/L (Are these levels OK?).

So after two weeks on the gels, my test went from 8.0mnol to 4.6mnol, with a E2 level of 70pmol/L. Now, obviously I crashed - but, was this due to high E2 levels, or the fact that my natural levels stopped and all I was left with was the Test from the Gels - as is normal when you start TRT.

After 4 week of the gels, my test went up to 8.4, which is .4 above the levels I started with, still feeling crap, was getting red rashes around my shoulders like small thread veins everywhere. So, the gels had not done anything but raise my T levels 0.4 in 4 weeks. Hmmmm.

So, after 4 weeks on the gels, I switched to Nebido. Had my first injection 3 weeks ago. Felt great for the first two weeks, but again now I have crashed. I know Nebdio takes time, but the feelings I have now are due to low T. Again, could this be due to high E2? If I had E2 levels of 70pmol/L with the Gels, after two weeks, then it more than likely would be the same with the Nebido?

Or, would you say that Gels naturally raise E2, more than Nebido - and I should just wait this out and see what happens. Although, not sure if 70pmol/L accounts for high E2 ?

    Thanks guys.

It's likely the nebifo hasn't had time to build up concentration in your system. Since you were on gel and stopped, your natural producing had stopped already. When you discontinued the gel, your test levels crashed.

This is of course pure speculation. Blood work is the only way to know. I have no idea how long nebido takes to level off.

One other thing, when you post your levels, please be sure to include the lab ranges. 70pmol/L means nothing to us if we don't know your Labs specific range. Also, was this a standard or sensitive test?

And lastly, relax. You've been on trt 7 weeks and you've already switched protocols. Trt takes time. I'm glad you got away from the gel, but 3 weeks is not enough time to get the effects of the nebido. Chill out and give it time to work.

    Hi Hawk,

Sound advice - its just slightly annoying that I feel "ok" for a few weeks, then go right down again. To the extent I have to go to bed. I'm only 38! I'm fed up of being tired, fed up of brain fog. Its clear the Gels didn't work, after 4 weeks going up .4nmol. After two weeks on the gels going down to 5.6mnol from 8.0mnol.

All I got on my blood results was 70pmol/L, so one assumes that this is standard test. All I know is that I feel as bad as I did when my levels were at 5.6mnol after threes on Nebido - this is meant to be time it kicks in. After 4 months of haggling, then starting TRT for 7 weeks, trying different protocols which seem to work for a couple of weeks, then I go down hiil; suppose I'm just getting a bit ****ed off with it all Its hard to chill out feeling like total and utter shit all the time, Gels not working - Nebido not working.. Nothing is bloody working! After 7 weeks surely I should feel better! So its gotta be something else stopping my T values from going up. After 4 weeks of gels I go 0.4 higher.

As for the ranges for E2, are they not standardized like for Test levels? If my E2 is high, then this could be the reason why I'm not feeling the Test. I have face bloat, I have sore nippples, I have spots appearing all over my back - when I'm not spotty at all and showing twice daily (I know you are meant to get some, but it feels like little pin pricks all over my back!).

Just hopping I could start taking some Anastrolzole (0.25 x2 weekly) to clear up high E2 levels and all will be rosey

You have been on for 7 weeks, but only on Nebido for 3. I've been on for 6 months and I'm still continually improving.

This is a long term deal. Yes the Nebido may be kicking in, but you aren't going to feel all the effects right away. it takes time for your body to adapt to the higher hormone levels.

I think it's probably all in your head. But like I said blood work is the only way to know. However, you really shouldn't have even had blood work done until 6 weeks straight of being on your protocol.

This is not an instant gratification treatment. It takes months up to a year to get dialed in.

Also, every lab should have ranges. If not, it's just a number and without something to compare that number to, its worthless.

Well, thanks for the advice. But, I can assure you its not all in my head. I've been suffering with low T for years, I know what the symptoms feel like. I know what I was feeling like last week, compared to this week. I know that in my second week of taking the Gels, I felt awful - had a blood test done which showed me at 4.6nmol down from 8nmol.

It is impossible for me to have Low T three weeks into a Nebido course, so one of the other option is that its an E2 issue. Regardless of waiting to get dialed in, or not. I'm having some sort of issue.

Anyway, thank you for your input.

You're the expert apparently. Why did you ask for advice then?

Its not impossible to still have low T symptoms. Nebido is very slow acting and takes several weeks even months to build up to proper levels. As far as E2, its possible its elevated but unlikely that it would be enough to feel it much this early. Only bloodwork can really answer that though. I'd say get your E2 sensitive checked so you can stop guessing.

Nebido did raise my e2 quite high and it only seems to last about six weeks before it starts to drop ny ft and tt fairly fast; I have had 3 shots since switching from ethanate; I have tried dim did a blood test after 2 weeks; no good; then started a very low dose of arimidex of 1.5/1mg every 50 hours/ 3rd day dropped from 190 to 100 (30) which was spot on for me

It will take 6 -12 months for nebido to fully kick in. You need to get your blood levels up and running which takes time with nebido. Ive been on it for yrs and its by far the best therapy ive tried. All this guessing whats the problem while on trt just get bloods drawn and see whats going on,

I'm interested in hearing more about people's progress/opinions re nebido.
From what Ive read so far, which is limited, is that shots are usually between 6-8 weeks apart, nothing is noticed (in general ) for approx 20 weeks (although obviously everyone reacts differently) and that when compared guys tend to prefer enanthate .
I'm curious because although I do like enanthate immensely I could see myself taking a shot once every 6 weeks.Plus , I'm in a region now that the hospitals sell them for $47 ,I believe, and will inject them for free. But if I wait till returning home it will probably be about $250-$350 a shot Ive read....
But its good to hear Marcus likes it . I'm also curious how someone might tweak it with hcg , proviron etc...or dose it to maximize some gains.
