So I just got bloodwork done 2 months after stopping an 8 week run of T3. My numbers are below. The T3 and t4 seem good, I have to check my pre t3 usage numbers, but my TSH is elevated. I'm assuming its high becuase my body had to compensate and pump out new t3/4 and will come down. Do these numbers indicated I've rebounded ok?
TSH- 3.600 (.450-4.500)
Thyroxine(t4)- 7.4 (4.5-12.0)
Triiodothyronine 126 (71-180)
Ill check my pre numbers and post them when I get home
I don't think you can read too much into it without comparing it to your pre-T3 levels.
So the high TSH isn't a problem 2 months after stopping ?
Pre numbers are almost identical. t3 126 and t4 7.0. Are these tests enough to show that I hve recovered ?
What was your TSH initially?

elevated tsh isn't exactly a good thing, even if t3 and t4 numbers match prior. It basically means your pituitary gland is pumping out extra tsh for your thyroid to make the same levels as before, but at least your system is somewhat working. I wouldn't say really fully recovered, as 1.4 tsh levels is much better than 3.6. you can look up a few things about tsh and what high levels can do to other receptors that may respond to it.
Well my thinking was my tsh had to go up because once I stopped my t3 usage my body had essentially zero, so my pituitary ramped up big time and maybe it's just taking a while to come back down. Will test again in 8 weeks, if it's still

Didn't wanna bother anyone with a pm, was hoping one of the vets would come across this and put up their thoughts. It's my understanding that with those numbers, my thyroid levels are back to normal which is good. The problem is my body is working harder then before to maintain those levels. Again I would think elevated tsh is normal in this scenario for a short period after t3 has been stopped, but im not an expert
i think you will find in 8 weeks or so things will drop back down. Studies show people who were on t3 for years and years and recovered thyroid function just fine (greer et al)
