    Alcohol consumption and TRT

    Couple of questions:
-- I work in the oil industry, travel to Africa for 30 days on shift and off for 30 days. While at work drinking is not allowed, but when I am home a have 2 beers and 2-3 glasses of red wine in the evenings almost everyday. How will this affect my TRT regime?

--- Second, as previously posted, I have been on TRT for 7 weeks now. My 6 week BW shows my Estradial at 51.8, will this level negate the positive effects of the Cypionate that I'm currently taking. Since I am in Africa and cannot get the Anastrazole that was prescribed, I have dropped my Cyp to 100mg weekly and the HCG TO 250IU twice weekly.

Thanks in advance for the advice......

Alcohol increases the conversion of Testosterone to E2. Considering your E2 is so high, you might rethink alcohol consumption. Sure it's fun, but I hate high E2.

Back in the day, guys used Proviron (AKA Provironum) to control E2. It's not as effective as Anastrozole, but there's a lot to like about it. You might check to see if it's available.

I'm on a 2-week party with friends and am drinking a bit more than I normally do. Haven't had to increase my Anastrozole yet, but I am taking between 25mg and 50mg of Provironum every once in a while.

Proviron (Provironum) is a DHT derivative. If DHT levels are low, Proviron will help with sexual response, and it competes with E2, which means you should suffer less sides.

Zinc also helps. Life Extension Foundation recommends Zinc 80mg daily. I take 75mg spread throughout the day.

But ease up on the booze and it'll help. Beer and spirits are bad for me. I can have 2 glasses of red wine or 2 pints of Cider per week and I won't upset my E2 too much. Any more than that and I have to grab the Provironum or the sides start rolling in.

    Hope that helps.

DIM-Zinc-copper combination may help as well.

I wouldn't necessarily call an E2 reading of 51.8 high. Is it higher than you might want it? Maybe, but it's not really what I'd call "High" at least not if that was a sensitive test. If it's the standard, on a sensitive it would probably be 10-20points lower.

A lot of men get very caught up by the idea that they have to be in the 20-30 range, and while I would often call that the perfect range, I would not call it perfect for all men. How do you feel? What's your overall health like? Are you experiencing any problems?

As for the main topic, drinking - it's not good for you if that matters to you, and that is going to hold true TRT or not. TRT doesn't really change what is and what isn't good for you. If it did, I'd have doughnuts every morning for breakfast, a pan of lasagna for lunch and a case of beer a day.

I cannot respond with any data other than my own experience. I quit drinking entirely December 12th and am an alcoholic, haven't had a drop since. With that, I have nearly eleminated my need for an AI. I was taking .5mg Anastrozol split to twice per week, I currently only need .25mg about every 2 weeks.

Does drinking raise your bp? I've started my second cycle of test e and have only been doing 250 a week to get back into it and I missed a week now, my BP is at 140/85 and my hands and feet have started to go red when I train and I feel faint, I didn't use armidex last cycle and haven't yet this cycle and have drank frequently this last week, any advice or help, I also suffer from anxiety,

The first thing I'd check is your hematocrit levels. That's the first that happens to my BP when my crit rises.

no point in having a half hearted approach to your own health.

If you want to drink 5 alcoholic drinks a night and expect Testosterone to pick up the slack your not 100% commited and selling your body short.

You obviously have underlying doubts about your drinking, otherwise you wouldnt have started a thread about it.

commit yourself to your health- cut the crap- and forgive yourself when you have a binge.

make it an exception, not a rule. Nobody worth their reputation will help you justify excess.

we all know the downfalls of smoking and alcohol- in 2015 ignnorance is now no longer an excuse
