    Testosterone level

    Hi all

Just back from the docs, went to speak about fertility & hormone levels etc. when talking about my test level he said its normal @ 16 and that the normal range in between 10 and 36 - i dont know what this means, can anyone help?

also concerned that 16 is towards the lower end...

    Thanks in advance

after stumbling across some info on the net whilst researching it seems you multiply the nmol/l by 28.8 to get the ng/dl so 16 nmol/l is 460.8 nmol/l

SoundSound OK, but not amazingly high. What's your general health like. ? Honesty counts on these forums. Is your Dr of a gp or specialist? What's your purpose for starting this is thread? Kids or muscle?

Thanks for the reply.. as i understand its like natural for a 40 yr old. My health is good, I eat well, train regular etc. I have cycled in the past and my last cycle ended Oct 2014 since then ive been working out, eating well and taking my vitamins etc.

The main purpose is kids I had a sperm test not long after my last cycle which was ZERO but I have another booked for 11th May, I really want to have kids with the wife, not sure if I was always unable or if it was because of the cycle, obvious ive said nothing to the doc yet (who was a GP) until i get to the urologist/endocrin if the sample is nil again.

At least my hormone levels are "normal" but I really want to find out so I know for sure and I want to be able to cycle again in the future whether its TRT with some cycles throughout the year I dont know yet, all i know is im in limbo till I find out about the fertility. I dont want to make things worse cycling hence why i stopped.

Good answer, did you do a proper pct? ...might be worth doing a restart, google hpta restart for more info, I know some fertility drs use clomid therapy . but I'm not across it. But its worth a try. Don't admit steroid abuse , you will get yourself a medical record and could interfere with insurance. Test levels could be higher, clomid therapy tends to have a chance at restoring those too.

Morning Simon, well its afternoon here in the uk...

Yes i did my pct i used hcg , 6 1500iu shots eod whilst incorporating clomid and nolvadex for a good 4-6 weeks. it seems ive recovered as my blood levels were all normal but i guess either im not 'fully' recovered test wise or maybe naturally my test is supposed to be around 500 nmol/l 'ish and obviously id like it to be higher but i do plan to cycle again in the future or perhaps try for trt aswell.

The thing at the moment is having kids, was i always unable or was it a dud test because of the cycle id just finished, will have to see next month when i retest and then see what the docs recommend. either way i cant cycle till i get a definitive answer.

i did think about maybe doing some self medicating with clomid or hcg but i dont want to make matters worse before i speak with the specialist. im just staying off the gear and eating healthy with vitamins, trying some tribulus terrestris and thinking about d asparic acid, im even taking folic acid as apparently it can help male fertility. i want to give myself every chance i can but if i cant i cant so will have to wait and see.

ive maintained well though since coming off the aas but i cant wait to get back on it!

get aas out of your head!

focus on restoring your sperm count- you are under a drs control now, listen to him and get your sperm back if you can, i have no idea why you'd be looking forward to trt at 26. at your age i'd be asking the dr for clomid therapy- google the scientific study - print it and -give it to him to read.you might be lucky and get another 24 years before you need trt.

Yh like i said just going to stay off the gear and focus on staying healthy, i guess its hard after being on cycle and adjusting away from it but i know it has to be done, the devil in me sometimes says f*** it and just get back on it but there is no way ill be doing that... i dont want trt its just a saddening feeling to find out you have the natty test of a 40 yr old at 26 but yeah im grateful still but after having the test of 1000 men its just a hard pill to swallow! but yes kids, sperm etc is more important. i will take some clomid info with me when i see the doc again post sperm test.

i have seen some conflicting data on natty test boosters thats why i got some pure tribulus terrestris i dont know if 'some' test boosters can negativley effect hpta / fertility from what ive seen tt can benefit or do nothing so i see it as quite safe.

stay off the trib- it doesnt show much promise-id go cap in hand to your dr and see if clomid restores your hpta.

you strted too early and your androgen receptors are probably fried from too much aas, it takes time for them to come back to life. after most cycles you end up with lower test levels after the cycle is finished- thats why pct is needed. inspite of pct test levels rarely end up at the same starting level naturally therefter.

    good luck
