    Correlation between TRT and Anemia?

Does TRT cause Anemia? I've recently had some issues with my blood work from my annual physical with my Primary. I'm on my third round of blood work due to numbers being off which appears to be Anemia related. Could this be due to my use of Test E, which is only 80mgs per week? I've had elevated Hema/RBC in the past, could this be a result of that or even the 60 day donations to keep that under control? My primary is aware of my TRT as I was being treated by him before he referred me to an Endo. The only issues I've had with my TRT related Blood work from my Endo were the elevated Hema/RBC, which I seem to have under control. Also, lately I noticed I have been fatigued and get winded easy.

Your post is a bit confusing, since you keep bouncing between anemia and the opposite.
TRT (androgens in general) cause an increase in RBC's. You are probably just donating more frequently than you should if your red counts are low.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the response. I probably could've been clearer. My focus should've stayed on the Anemia and whether it may be caused by TRT. I guess I was looking to see if any members have experienced this. The reason I brought up the Hema/RBC issue is perhaps my effort to keep it under control by donating is causing this, as you referred to. Maybe backing off on the donations is a good idea.

TRT did not cause your anemia.
Donating blood proactively could cause this and very easily.
Two things with TRT, being proactive about donating blood and taking anti-estrogens are probably two of the biggest mistakes patients make.

L.T., glad to hear TRT doesn't cause Anemia. I'm not on an A.I. so my 60 day donations are probably the culprit here. Juced Porkcop, I'm going to gather my last couple blood work results and post them. Thanks guys.

I lowered dose and this kept my hemoglobin under control. I had issues with low ferritin because of frequent blood donations. Giving blood every 60 days would be overkill for me

    It is for most.
The majority of men do not need to donate blood due to TRT.
Those that do need to donate, we're talking about at most 25% (that's probably a high estimate) of men and we're talking about 1-2 times per year.
Even less than the above actually need to donate every 2-3 months.

agreed. I think a lot of times the dose is just too high!! This will cause probs. I've found a sweet spot and will only donate 1 time per year if that.
