    About to start TRT

Hey whats up fellas? So im 27 and about to start TRT. Had bloods pulled in January, came back at 304 ng/ml, and free test at 56. According to the specs technically low is 296 ng/ml and free test at 54.

Soon after i had to go through some chemotherapy, both drugs have a residual side effect of leaving men with low t. After i finished up chemo my oncologist agreed i needed replacement. He felt i needed it before the chemo and is dead certain i am clinical low after chemo.

We just sent off for a LH test so ensure its not a pituitary problem. I have been getting bloods drawn weekly for 6 months due to cancer ive had every blood test imaginable so my oncologist feels the pituitary is fine but might as well check JIC.

My question is should i order any further test to find out what the problem could be. I dont want to be married to the needle, but my quality of life is suffering. As of now my oncologist is fine with giving me 1cc every two weeks of test e 250 mg/ml or 1/2 cc weekly. He said we'll pull bloods if its not too high and my body can handle it then thats where i will stay. If i have problems beyond that ill be referred to a specialist.

Reason i a asking is i want to be around for a while. I dont want to make a that could potentially harm me or cut my life short i know dumping exogenous mount of test into your system over time can increase wear and tear on your heart and respiratory systems. Plus the high RBC that can come out of it too.

    Any help is much obliged!

test creams and gels work great for the first few months- thereafter they become a pain to do daily and some have reported resistance to absorption as the months /years pass.

ivebeen on creams for 5 months and just started injecting at 2 pins per week at 150mgs total a week (2x 75mg).

honestly, i would say injecting is less fuss- using an insulin needle and injecting into the stomach fat, is an easy feat.

yes trt is for life- maybe in the future they may have a newer , easier delivery method ( injectable pellets as an example) or even aveed.

but it beats feeling crap just so you can avoid 15mins of annoyance a week.

women spend more time on their hair and makeup a week- im sure you will do fine if you put it in perspective.

oh , and as far as wanting to be around for a while- a lack of testosterone will cause you more good than harm- im betting you will have a longer healthier life than most men not on trt

chemo can have effects on your body, I might try a re start first. If that fails then one or two pins a week is not a bad deal for feeling good again. Low t can have detrimental effects on your longevity not to mention quality of life. Besides, it's only replacing what your body would produce naturally.

Thanks fellas I appreciate it! I'll be starting this week.

Beethoven I was already almost clinically low before chemo. Even then my doc thought I should get replacement.

Question? Should I worry about the same sides ad someone on cycle when starting trt? Thankfully my BF is around %12 so not to much should convert.

Are you sure the free test was 54? Before I got on TRT mine was at a 6 and my labs say normal ranges are 11-26. I do a week interval on test Cyp do to the half life of it. You will get more steady levels. HCG can also help boost natural test throughout the week. Good luck!

Sorry about your situation OP. Just an FYI, my Doc said he's had a couple of his TRT patients go through Chemo and they stayed on TRT during treatment. He said they actually faired better than the average person and remained strong while going through the rigors of Chemo.

Dont fret if you must go on TRT, many here will confirm it's a very life altering process (in a very positive way) if you mange it correctly...

Thanks bud I appreciate it! I was going planning on trt before chemo but my treatment was so aggressive doc said the chemo is gonna kill the test off too fast before it take effect.

Most go to chemo 1 day every week or two. Some go once a month...I went 5 days a week. He was right it killed my test unreal quick. I mean small testicles, ol Johnson hiding in my stomach, and crying over Sara Mclaughlin and those damn aspca commercials lmao!

    Congratulations on your victory boss

I'm not sure anyone answered, weekly is definitely better then bi weekly. But twice weekly is preferred.

1/2cc (125mg in your case) is a pretty good starting dose. Most start at 100 but 125 is close.

    Good luck
