Started TRT this week, what to keep an eye out for?

Hey everyone! So I started my TRT this week, im prescribed Test Enanthate @ 100 mg's a week. I wanted to know if i need to have an AI, on hand? Also if anyone could tell me round about when I should expect to see some sides, if any.

    Any help is much obliged!

This thread should be helpful to you, as well as some of the other stickies:

It's unlikely that you'll need an AI on that dose but only time and bloodwork will tell. Most guys on 100mg/week won't need one.

Many, including myself, will suggest splitting that dose to 50mg every 3.5 days to keep your hormones as stable as possible, but that's not a requirement by any means.

Regular bloodwork should be done to assess for unwanted side effects such as increased estradiol, elevated RBC's, and elevated hematocrit.

There's much more to it than that, but have a look through the stickies for more detailed information.

Thanks for that stickey i have not covered it yet. I have read most of the stickies in the TRT forum. Primarily my question was about watching for sides, the other part you had answered with most not needing an AI at my dose.

You will only know if you need an AI at your 6 week bw. I also am on 100 mg a week and I do need an AI. When you get bloodwork done you will know than. I use .25 mg twice a week. A lot guys need an AI, but just as many don't. As far as sides just plan to give blood every 2 months due to hematocrit rising. That to is some guys do some guys don't. But it's still a good idea to give blood. Don't tell them your on trt. You should also start supplementing Vit D -3 5000 iu Ed, and you may also want to supplement DHEA. I use 25 mg Ed. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but just take it slow because it's a slow process. Are you going to use HCG ?

Like everybody else says, I am glad your doc prescribed once a week, once every two weeks seems to be common that doc prescribes but isn't good at all.

I wont be using HCG as of now, my doc wants to get me dialed in more before i add another compound. Im thinking about not running it. I had some stuff frozen before i went through chemo, and the wife and i dont want kids. I might add it if the atrophy is too bad.

I'd use it. Read the sticky on HCG or google Crisler's paper on it. It'll change your mind. It's about far more then sperm....

Just read that article kelkel and holy hell am I glad I did. Big thanks for cueing me in on that! I knew nothing of pregnenolone or what it did and surely wouldnt have guessed it had anything to do with the testes! I will be asking the doc for a script for some when I see him for bloods on Tuesday. As well as adding vitamin D3 and DHEA to my supplement profile as the article and ppwc1985 suggested.
