    trt and fertility

Hi guys, I'm 27 y.o. male with low test, I'm seeing a "specialist" I use the term loosely as much of his information conflicts with what I have read on the forum or other research I have undertaken. I feel I need Trt as I'm showing all the signs of low test (low energy, low libido, low mood etc.) However my main concern is if I have to be on test indefinitely would there be any possibility for me to start a family in the future or would my testes be too ****ed up beyond repair even if I came off and used hcg etc. for a short period and then restarted my trt regime.

My "specialist" seems to think it would be OK as Trt would only top up my natural test and as long as the test levels in my body stay within its natural parameters I will still be fertile, from what I've read and believe I am 99% sure that his advice is BS.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated guys
    Thanks Danny

As long as your taking hcg along side of your trt you will be ok. We have quite a few members who have had children while on trt. From what I understand, if your not taking hcg while on trt
It will be a slim chance that you can have child.

Thanks for the reply, Dr will only prescribe test, I'm in the UK and hrt is so far behind here, its been a struggle to even get test prescribed because my levels are within the "normal" range. I'm scared of starting trt with hcg and not being able to get hold of any 12month down the line due to source probs etc. As It wouldn't be guaranteed. Would hcg not work after 12 months or so of trt to kick start my testes and support them for a short while until I can get my gf to conceive.
    Thanks again
    Danny

As mentioned already, you're good to conceive so long as HCG is run. As for HCG alone, it all depends if your issue is primary or secondary (Hypogonadism can be of hypothalamic-pituitary origin or of testicular origin, or a combination of both)

If it's secondary, Testosterone is required. I appreciate you're in the UK, but you should seek a clinic that specializes in Anti-Aging

So long as you get a script for Testosterone, you'll never have an issue of being short. Worth the trip to London (assuming you're not there) as you'll find the right doc that specializes in this field there

    Good luck

Have you looked into what is causing your low t before jumping on trt for life? If you do not use hcg you will become sterile because your own test will be completely shut down.

Thanks guys, found an anti aging consultant in London who seems like she knows what she's talking about from the website. Didn't think they had them over here! Will check it out and keep you posted.

Not sure of the exact cause as the dr's/ consultants seem to think I don't have a problem as its within "normal" parameters, however I had used steroids at a really young age not knowing what I was doing and feel like I've never fully recovered so I believe it's from that.

You can always order hcg from a online Indian pharmacy. They will write the script as well

when I was on a TRT for 2 years or so, after 6 months when I had a sperm test my levels where non existent and I was chemically castrated.
Once I came off TRT it took about 3-5 months till my levels where good and I was fertile enough to get the other half pregnant.

I didnt know anything about HCG alongside TRT for keeping fertility, but if you can research all you can before committing to a TRT.

I would see another doctor if mine thought TRT was "topping off my natural test" WTF!
