Thoughts on recent blood work results please

    Hi Guys,

looking for some thoughts on my recent blood work results. Been on TRT for approximately a year and a half and my current protocol is 80mgs Test E only once per week. Overall, I feel pretty good but do still suffer from fatigue. Recently started to take a daily iron supplement as recommended by my primary due to lab results from an annual physical with him. For some reason my endo has never tested my E2, perhaps my dose is so low it may be unnecessary. Any input it greatly appreciated.

I'd say its up to you at those numbers. Don't chase a number, but your test levels for both total and free are low enough in range that you could go up if you feel the need. I dont see any indicators in your bloodwork to discourage upping the dose, your hematocrit is good. Is your doctor open to changing your dose? Based on your current levels I'd try 100mg/wk for a while to see how you feel.

I actually started out on that protocol but lowered it due to elevated hematocrit. I agree with your thought of going back to 100mgs/wk as I felt good there. My rx is still written that way so its an easy transition. Thanks for the response.

If it were me I'd up it to at least that and give blood every 8 weeks.

Bingo.....donate blood every few months and you should be fine. Just don't go overboard on donating too often, 2-3 times a year should do it. Too often can drop your iron levels too much. To give you an idea, if my hematocrit is at 50, one donation will drop me to 46-47 and it takes about 3 months to get back up to 50 again. Its different for everyone, but that's how its been for me.
