Bleeding from glute after injection
So I went to inject some T this morning in my glute and when I pulled the needle out some blood came with it which is unusual. Not a a lot but enough to drip down my leg then I applied direct pressure and it stopped. I'm assuming I nicked a blood vessel because I didn't get any blood when I aspirated. And I used the same site that I always do. But now there's a small hematoma right at the injection site. Might just be some of the blood that got caught sub q or could it be the oil. Is it possible that I lost all of my oil with the blood?

it is normal for a lil blood you jabbed a long needle in your body as long as it isn't gushing its fine I get a drop or 2 about half the time

It wasn't gushing but it was more than usual. It was enough that it flowed down to my leg for a second. Before I could apply direct pressure at which point it immediately stopped and now there's a small bump right there. That's why I was thinking I might've hit a blood vessel on the way out. Either way I just hope I didn't lose any of the oil.

I always pull the needle half to 3/4 the way out and stop for a few seconds an then pull the rest of the way out.

It gives it time to close with out having blood or oil come back out of the injection site.

you don't really got to move it and pause I just let it sit there for 10-20 seconds before I take it out

All I can tell ya is I have given myself a ton of injections and have tried several methods and this way works great fro me. Yes Dj just leaving pin in for 20-30 secs is a standard injection method and does work most of the time.

See I didn't know any of that I just do what my doctor does when I go in he just injects it and draws the needle out immediately I usually never bleed at all. With all that being said though do you guys think I should inject again on he other glute today in case the blood took all the oil with it?

if it just looked like blood I wouldn't worry you can tell if it had oil mixed with it

When you wipe it away you'll see if there was oil. I usually would t worry about any oil leaking out though. It's usually negligible. It just looks like lots on tissue paper.
