How did TRT affect your hairline?

Do you think that TRT made you lose your hair faster than usual?

What age did you go on TRT and how long did it take to see a negative effect if any? Also were you genetically inclined to lose your hair to begin with? Just curious what sort of experiences every has had. Thanks

I fired mine before it quit on me but I was headed down that path regardless because of genetics.

Testosterone makes for DHT. Transdermals make for even more. DHT makes for hair loss.

My hair is thinning more than ever now. I use Minoxidil and it does help but for me it's a combination of age and genetics. My plan and suggestion for you when you get to that point of no return: Shave you head, grow facial hair, work out and have lots of sex, and enjoy life to the fullest - because there is NO way you could if you weren't on TRT!

(Or you could take a chance, quit TRT and see if you keep your hair. The choice is a no-brainer.)

Agree with 2Sox. If you're prone to MPB then there's really not much you can do about it. I've not lost a hair on my head but have grown some in odd places that don't need mentioning.

Been on HRT since I was 14. Went from patches, to pumps, to packets with gel, and now injections. My hair is about 5 in long, it has thinned out quite a bit since then and I lose hair daily but I think that's because I have longer hair. I take care of myself though, usually use coconut oil in my hair once a week when I'm at home and that strengthens it in addition to aiding in hairloss prevention.

Sure, result of a dirt bike accident which caused all of the following:

    Hypopituitarism
    Broken jaw
    Broke bones in both ears
    Cracked skull
    Broken nose
    3 blood transfusions

I've had my fair share of surgeries you could say.

Figured some sort of head trauma. I grew up racing motocross as well. Very fortunate to come out unscathed.

Haven't been losing any hair on my head. However, my back hair has gotten longer causing me to shave. I agree with the other on the baldness, shave the head and grow a goatee.

I've dialed back how extreme I am on the dirt bike, definitely don't jump like when I was younger, but still ride aggressively, broke my hand in feb, but blame my suspension set up being off.

I'm losing hair on a daily basis, but no receding hair line, and hair is still fairly thick. But I have to not wash my hair, as if it gets dry it gets brittle and more likely to fall out. When I run my hands through it and it isn't smooth it rips like ten hairs out per hand per time going through. I never had this problem when I was younger. But it didn't start with trt, it started when I started thyroid medication. DHT was tested at the higher end of the range, vs a few years ago it was middle of the range when I was on trt for half a year. Doc doesn't have much to say, but I guess it might be somewhat normal, as I know woman are constantly having hair fall out and they manage to be fine. I was just really lucky before to have strong hair and follicles and it never budged, tug as you could. Don't see a reason to stop treatment at this point.
