New Federal Regs for 10ml vials of Test Cyp?

My pharmacy just called and advised that new federal regs dictate they can no longer fill a 10 ml vial for greater than 28 days due to risk of infection. So they are sending me 10 x 1 ml multi-use vials instead (for more money of course).

Anyone else hear of this crap yet? Someone's always f*cking with us it seems.

    Thanks...

About the only thing I've seem regarding 1ml vials was BCBS of Illinois has a dispensing limit of 4-1ml vials/month. I recently asked BCBS of Illinois for a copy of their current TRT guidelines and formulary and they sent me a .pdf of it. All 42 f-in pages of it.

Edit: However, when I was at my Dr.today to get my weekly shot, the nurse cracked open a fresh vial of Pfizer depo-test and jokingly told me it ought to be good they just got it yesterday. Don't see why they would have any more access to 10ml vials than people who self inject? It's not like bacteria is picky about residences vs. a business. Of course, I'm sure a 10ml vial doesn't last long in a Dr. office so perhaps that's the difference?

You may be right, but I'm thinking this pharmacy is just screwing with me to get more money...

My insurance started doing that a long time ago. I think it's more insurance driven, not a federal mandate. It's a little more annoying going to the pharmacy every month, but $5 a month is still cheap enough so I don't sweat it. Nice thing for me is the 1ml vials are considered single use so I pick up 4 of them(800 mg total) but only use about 550-600 mg a month. I've got a sh!t ton of those little vials stocked up now, lol.

Alot of insurances do this now, i simply have my doc write my acript for the 10 ml like i did yeaterday. And pay out of pocket as its cheaper that way and use the goodrx coupon and it was a tad over $44.... Cheaper than paying monthly for small vials....

Just started with Kaiser, and the pharmacy gave me seven 1 ml bottles of Phizor Depotest. I asked for a 10 ml bottle and they said they can't get them.

Well I had a refill left on the bottle I just finished so I called it into Walgreens today. If they fill it that will be two 10 ml bottles in a week so I would assume it would be safe to say they are still out there

I've only been able to get the 1ml bottles too. Three pharmacies told me that they can't reorder the 10ml bottles anymore and that Watson has discontinued them completely. My insurance only allows a month at a time too, so they have to give me 3, 1ml bottles at a time. I've been told that once the bottles that are out there are gone, we'll only be able to get em in the 1mls....
