My prospective TRT doctor and how much hes charging and what hes telling me

My doc wants to bring me to "optimal levels". 1200 test high 20's free test.

500 dollars for the blood test / 500 dollars to have an appointment and register as a new client

roughly 300 dollars a month for my medication.

Am I paying way too much? How does this all sound?

Depends on which country you live in, if Australia- rip off. The test would cost you $40 a month at most.

$4600 in total, its robbery. keep looking. try the A4M website and ring around.

I agree with Simon. These charges are obscene. In the US, you can get T Cyp for about $40-65 with a coupon from Good Rx online. Depends on which pharmacy chain you get it from. Easy to look up and there is an app you can get for your smartphone. Bring up the coupon and show it to your pharmacist. Done.

Some designer doctors like Shippen, will charge these prices because he's so famous. But any other doctor - there's no excuse. Hypogonadism is a medical condition covered by insurance. Find a urologist in your area that does TRT and be done with this guy.

For me: $200 with my TRT clinic in the Los Angeles area. It gets me on bottle of test c every three months, all my needles/syringes and if I want, some arimidex . He will do some basic blood work (test and hematocrit), but that's it. Of course however, and this is the big factor - my need for TRT is not considered medically necessary (based upon the interpretation of what is appropriate levels of test for my age) by my primary health provider. Thus, if I want to stay "above the board/legal", I must go this route. I think I'd be very unhappy if the price was more than this.

Sadly its okay to allow a man in his prime to feel like an old man and have a crappy out of shape body. Its "normal"

And when the girl of my dreams doesnt want to go on a date with me but will date an asshole with a 6 pack thats also normal.

End of the day im going to do what i can to be as great as i can whether by nature or not and im not walking around feeling like an old man tired all the time because my body chemistry isnt what it should be.

Ill pay out of pocket then.

Have you tried asking him for a script and buying your own needles? Everything else can be purchased overseas very cheaply: hCG , exemestane.

My urologist writes me a script for Test Cyp and I get the rest. You can also mail away your own blood work and pay for it cheaply. Other guys have the info on that.

You can buy just about any hormone you want overseas and have it shipped to the US. There is risk of being ripped off by a scam and for customs to confiscate it. Best advice is to ask guys who their suppliers are and whether they can be trusted.

Have you had full BW to try to determine what the problem is and fix it, before jumping on TRT? Or did I miss it.....

Don't know where you are located but in south florida the going rate seems to reside somewhere in the 500ish range for intake(consult and blood work). Then if you 'qualify' for trt/hrt it will run around 200-300 a month depending what your protocol is. I.E. amount of test, AI's, HCG , ancillaries. Going through the clinic you'll be getting compounded stuff, but that is how they make their money. Some may/will write scripts for you for what they call a 'medical advisory fee' or something similar. Usually by the time one pays the fees and gets their gear it runs about the same. Of course they plan it that way. Caveat: have come across 2 places that claim they will provide brand name pharma stuff if requested, but they were on the high end of what i've come across which probably explains why.
The trouble i'm running into in this area is finding a place that is reasonable with fees, a doctor who actually knows and understands dialing in hormones, and isn't a fly by night place or sketchy. So i actually have very little experience with trt but through all the research i've been doing the pricing you are coming across falls within the high normal range. Could probably find a cheaper place to help you, but the price doesn't strike me as obscenely out of the norm from what i've come across personally.

EDIT: If folks think this is actually really high and know of good reputable places in soflo where the doc really knows what they are doing, is flexible, and fees are less......then please, i'd like to know where to find em.

It would be really interesting to know how much TRT patients are paying for the therapy, but I am not sure if it allowed to discuss prices here. I feel that I was overcharged for my therapy.

Yeah, when i can buy a 10mg test vial for 30-40 bucks at the local pharmacy and the place charges 140-170 for that same amount it strikes me as a bit disingenuous.

The clinic I'm having my therapy through doesn't deal with insurance companies. So the patients pay out their pockets for the therapy.

That's crazy. God the world we live in is sooooo upside down.

Example---i can go into any pharmacy and buy an unlimited amount of insulin syringes without even a question from anybody. But god forbid someone merely asks about what types of syringes the pharmacy has, or can get, where the size is what we use. They look at you like you are trying to inquire about stopping the earths rotation; but sure go ahead and get as many meth needles as you can possibly carry out the store.
